Not sure why there was a 1 star review previously. I called the clerk's office and a person answered the phone. There was no menu to go through and they answered me accurately. I did visit in person to take care of my matter, which could have also been handled by mail. I was greeted and taken care of in a timely and professional manner. My best advice is, if you have a question, just call them. You'll save a lot of time.
Still closed sense march 20, 2020. Courts are now open but records still closed. All of the record room employees where able to get vaccined under 1a and 1b vaccine criteria. NY state is now under 1c vaccine criteria. In a non covid 2019 day there employees where 18 feet apart, far beyond the requirements and yet they where closed during covid. They remain closed even though they should all be vaccinated. The tables they have for reviewing records are over 6 feet apart, and yet they are closed? When the county clerks office saves $55 dollars a year by spending a multitude of $160,000 a year per employee, how can they justify this? Seriously, ny state tax payers paid hundreds of tax dollars to record all court rooms. It litterly cost $55 us dollars for over 12 years worth of 8 hours, 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year court procedings at 256k 24bit audio, instead we pay someone a 6 figure income and turn off the recording. Wasting millions if not billions of tax payer money. I got a transcript from Ms. Boccio, she couldn't keep up with the court procedings, as such she continually wrote "something like this was said", in the transcripts. She was hungry during the begin, complained to the judge, and yet she makes a 6 figure income plus benefits to save the state $55 divided by over 12 years per court house, before accounting that she needs a backup for sick and vacation time. Seriously, millions of dollars requires at most only 6 recorderers, how many court houses do we have in NY state? How many court reporters do we have average per court house in NY state? You can't get food why, you can't get funding for school why, you can't get funding for --- because NY state county clerks office is wasting hunderds of millions of dollars a year if not billons of dollars a year on inaccurate transcript of court procedings. Honestly, ask yourself which is better an audio recording of what was said, or someone trying to type? Honestly even short hand of "w/" does that mean who, what, where or when? Some ask, "what was the store again". Transcribed "w/ w/ t st ag. Months later it becomes "where was the station again". Audio recordings as required and paid for by NY state tax dollars do not suffer the same failures, they also save tax dollars.
