My partner and I came for a little NYE dinner date. The spicy pizza was my favourite and I’m so glad we took the servers recommendations for the dessert… we loved the chocolatey donuts. Our server was super accommodating to us when we were cold on the patio, she found a spot for us inside. Will be coming back for sure :
Great restaurant in the neighborhood for Italian food. Pizza and pasta was very good. Service was excellent. Good atmosphere. Can get a bit chilly as they keep opening the doors to the heated patio area to serve those customers.Food: 4/5
Their pastas are delicious! No complaints about pasta. The doughnut cake can be improved. Its best if its hot and soft, dipped on the sauce on the side. The ice cream can be improved as well. Like why put so little. See pic Might as well remove and just leave the sauce. Calamari is good too, forgot to take a pic coz hungry already Service and ambience is good. They have private rooms if you need them for large group. Kudos to the waitress who assisted in our table, group of 12 people. There was a mix in orders when it comes to payment but its all good. One thing, the food can take a long time. 2 of my cousins are still waiting for their food, while the rest of us are already eating.
We’ve been wanting to try Cotto for a while since it’s always very busy on weekends which we took to be a good sign. We managed to get a reservation on a Saturday and brought two of our out of town visitors. Everyone except me got pasta. For starters we shared the calamari and lemon and garlic prawns. The calamari was good but the prawns left much to be desired… there were only about 6 prawns total for $16, so very overpriced. For mains, in total we had the carbonara pizza, carbonara pasta, gnocchi and pesto pasta. I had a bite of everyone’s pasta and they were all delicious! My pizza was pretty good- the soft boiled egg works surprisingly well! However, I found the dough to be somewhat tough and full of air pockets which I expect some of due to wood burning stove but this was excessive. Next time around I would probably order pasta instead of pizza.
Amazing pizza. This is such a hidden gem! Wood burning oven making fresh pizzas with generous toppings and for a really reasonable price. Great for groups/parties as there is lots of space & outdoor patio with heating. The fungi pizza was my favorite thing on their menu!
A pizza shop highly recommended by a friend months ago. Finally got a chance to go there for a family lunch. Liked the cosy and chic industrial style decor of the restaurant. Plenty of rooms between tables. 5 stars for interior environment. Ordered a calamari fritti. The squid was fresh. Batter was ultra thin, not like the calamari I tried at other restaurants. So delicious 5 stars. Tagliatelle Carbonara - the pasta was house made. Liked the texture. The Alfredo sauce was so rich. 5 stars. Margherita 5 stars. The lunch couldn’t finish without dessert. We ordered a tiramisu my favourite dessert of all time. Maybe the previous dishes set a high expectation. The last dish was the least satisfying. The tiramisu was a bit dry. I personally prefer the lady fingers be soaked generously with coffee. 3 stars. Overall 4 stars.
First time trying this restaurant and had a great experience. The atmosphere was lively and more casual which I preferred. The food came out quickly and the quality surpassed my expectations. I will definitely come back
Do not go with high expectations of “the best pizza in town” or it being “authentic Neapolitan style pizza”. It is not. If you go with the notion that it is a neighborhood restaurant with decent Italian food you will probably enjoy it. They have some good flavour combos on their menu. The Margherita pizza crust was hard and thin and the cheese was sparse and probably shredded.
Really enjoyed the experience here! Our server/bartender was super nice. Food felt authentically Italian as it was very reminiscent of our recent Italy trip, they even have Peroni on tap!! We got the chicken pesto penne, carbonara pizza, cheese balls and Peroni. Would recommend all, and will definitely come back!
We had amazing service and food here last night. Our thanks to “TJ” who made the best negronis I’ve had in a while. She also looked after us so well and is friendly and sweet. Our food was wonderful, fresh and locally sourced ingredients made our meal so delicious. The house made pasta and pizza was gorgeous. Our only complaint would be that this is a very loud restaurant, maybe not for a quiet, romantic date night. However, now we know this, it is not enough of a problem to not return for another wonderful night.
