I applied for a tourist visa and provided all required documents. They requested additional documents, which I submitted, yet they did not issue a case number or confirmation for my submission. Living an hour away from Montreal, I had to follow up in person multiple times because they don’t respond to emails or phone calls. On my sixth visit, after three months, I was told there might be no respond at all, meaning no rejection message and no defined timeframe —just endless waiting! This lack of communication and accountability is very unprofessional and frustrating. I would not recommend this office based on my experience.
First of all, on the positive side - congratulations to the staff on-site - I did what I needed to do on that day and they were decently friendly.nNext a few negatives:na People living in Ottawa were told to go Toronto however someone was nice enough to tell that the website is outdated and we can now do it in Montreal.nb it is impossible to get the right information from only one source - I had to call a few offices and ask a few people to get the right infonc it is a very STRESSFUL experience, as we have to travel from Ottawa, or Quebec or further and it is a one-shot deal - one missing document or wrong info and you have to come back again that is a few hours each way for some people.nd the security guy at the door who is NOT even a Moroccan is not helpful and also borderline rude - very insulting to be stopped at our own embassy by a foreigner.ne we have to wait outside rain or shine in a non-commercial area i.e.: no café, or fast food place to sit down or washroom in sight - a waiting room would be nice especially for elderly or handicapped people.nOn the bright side - documents are valid for 10 years, so for the next 9.5 years, no stress or hassle dealing with that bureaucracy.nnOn a brighter side - the service has been improving over the decades - keep up with the good work, eventually we might experience a normal and acceptable level of service hopefully in my lifetime.
Horrible service! They give appointment and after 2h of wait the councillor doesn't simply show up! have some respect for people's time and energy. This is not acceptable!
I had a terrible experience with this embassy. I waited over two and a half months for important documents, and after being told they were ready, I took two days off work to pick them up. When I arrived, they apologized and said it was a mistake—the documents weren't ready. I wasted my time, money, and energy for nothing. The lack of communication and professionalism is unacceptable. Very disappointed.
The consulate’s services has really improved compared to before. I’m very pleased with the way it has evolved. The consulate has implemented their scheduling system for appointments and where one can upload any documents. Just like any other consulate in Montreal, there are rules to follow and documents that are required for them to process your affairs. There is nothing out of the ordinary in my opinion. If you do not bring the required paper documents that they have requested and that they have mentioned on their website, then the fault is on you…not them. 5 stars for the improvements and for the friendly staff. Bravo well done!
