3.5 stars - I definitely believe you are paying for the nice decor and the service. Cleanliness, presentation, atmosphere, and service usually reflects the menu pricing. So I was prepared, happy, and willing to pay. Truthfully I was very excited! However I have to say most of the dishes we ordered were mediocre, chicken wings, bun bo hue, spring rolls. We did love the broth of the Mien noodle bowl, this one was the family favorite. It was flavourful and the glass noodles isn't a common sold item in most Vietnamese restaurant, so I definitely appreciated this noodle bowl. I would still recommend that you try! If a nice ambiance, cleanliness, decent food, great service is something you're willing to pay for. However if you're looking for portion, good food, a hearty bang for your buck meal. I'm not sure this will be your cup of tea.
Took my sister and mom here because she's been wanting to try it for the longest time and I highly recommended it! The food was delicious as always, service was good and food arrived pretty quick. She loved the atmosphere and decor of the place. It was my first time trying to Papaya Salad and Vermicelli Bowl Special and they did not disappoint. My mom was a fan of all the dishes, especially the Pho Saigon! Would recommend anyone to come here to try this place out. :
Local modern Vietnamese place in Richmond. I’ve been coming here for a few years now when I get cravings for Vietnamese food and they do not disappoint. The atmosphere and service are always great and the food is delicious. I recommend the chili fish sauce chicken wings! Free parking is always appreciated as well.
Very clean and modern aesthetics. The food was also decent and the wait staff were very friendly. We got some drinks and food to share because the portions were quite big. I recommend the crab meat fried rice they use real crab meat and their Vietnamese style pancake. It’s surprisingly sweet but has a nice balance. The dessert was also good but I was honestly too full to really enjoy them. Next time I come back, I want to try their pho
Quite bad of first impression when we just sat down. My son accidentally dropped the napkin on floor, the server picked it up and put it back on the table for him… serious?! I’m really surprised with that… Just friendly reminder, NEVER put the thing back on the table if it dropped on floor, especially in front of your customers… It’s common sense! ‍ Secondly, foods are disappointed. Those deep fried foods… please change the oil! The colour of deep fried foods can tell~~ Some of them are over cooked. The skin of pork spring rolls can tell… And the middle part of the crepe are burnt with bitter taste… we gave it up at the end. The rest of our ordered, just so so, only crab fried rice and chicken wings are acceptable with this price. Food quality needs to be improved.
Parking is horrible... The building has very few commercial spots. Most street parking nearby seemed to be permit only? Chicken wings are deliciously crisp, fresh, and juicy, with the right amount of tang from the fish sauce and a small hint of heat from the chili! The meat in Toto Special was straight up dry though, and seasoning /flavor wasn't anything special. I guess the egg yolk and sauce is included to rehydrate it. Appy arrived after main dish - guess you need to specify if you want it first. And main dishes don't arrive together. No quality check/follow up from the server. For the price, I expect more.
Delicious food with great and friendly service. The vegetarian curry delicious and the pho soup must try it. Just a small and friendly advice is that the condiments should be included in the food price is not much but doesn’t look good. Is like “I am ordering pancakes and you change me for the maple syrup which is hilarious.” For a person who’s never tried Vietnamese food it would be tasteless because you never would know that it should come with condiments. Better you added in the dish price and bring it to the table. Just a friendly suggestion In charge everything was perfect
Ordered the To To Special which their website said it included Chicken, Beef and Pork. I called back asking why it was missing chicken they said it was no longer included and they would just change the website. I have already taken into consideration that I ordered takeout and did not have high expectations. The pork/beef were insanely thin and ended up being overcooked and dry. It’s an even worse look when they charge $22 for the dish. The fried egg and rice were alright. Would reconsider if they had an accurate website and chose to use significantly higher quality cuts of meat. Edit: Mike: Thanks for responding. I will confirm there was a discount offered for future meal but I declined because it would not remedy the already botched meal. It would also need to be an unreasonably high discount offered for me to pay for another meal at this point. Your staff were friendly and professional. I think you missed the main point of critique which was about the poor quality cut of meat chosen for the dish. The price point is fine, otherwise I would not have ordered in the first place. I would not mind paying a premium if the price was reflected in the pork/beef that is provided for your kitchen to cook.
We saw the banner on our way to another restaurant and decided to stop in. The name was not at all reflective of Vietnamese cuisine and it not visible behind all the flourishing bushres. A modern and spacious setting with high ceiling and floor to ceiling windows makes for a nice atmosphere which is much needed in Richmond. Thank God. A very clean menu with traditional Vietnamese dishes with a modern twist. We ordered the Vermecilli bowl. The charred meats was delicious and worth the $$, although it could only use a bit more crunchy veggies. The steak salad was beautifully presented in a clay bowll but a bit bland. Service was friendly but they could use an extra hand or two considering how busy the place was. It took 20 min to get our food. I'd go back to try the crepes and mackerel. Pricey but worth it.
I love the design of the restaurant! The decor is very cute and whimsical. The service was great. The food was very delicious and it was interesting to see that they had variety in Vietnamese dishes to try. My friends and I had the Butter Garlic Chicken Wings, Hủ Tiếu Khô, Vermicelli Bowl, and the Cari Gà. The foods were not too salty or overly sweet, which made the dish easy to eat. Portions are normal! I would recommend the Butter Garlic Chicken Wings and the Hủ Tiếu Khô!
