Sandwiches are excellent. If you go, definitely get the meatballs in a heel. It's just a bunch of meatballs shoved into a loaf of bread. The bakery is also excellent. You can get a delicious, soft, fresh baked loaf of bread for around two dollars. Definitely worth a visit.

Best bread period. Whenever I'm in the 'Cuse, I get 10-20 loaves. Worried the piggy-back deli next door isn't doing well.

They lie to customers about the meatballs! They say they are homemade but they come in a box, frozen. They are located in the coolers in the back of the store! The only hing they do is put them on a tray and place in the ovens in the bakery. Don't believe them!! Ask for yourself!!

Like others before me two loaves, one for home and one for the ride. This was my first visit and when I out a piece of torn off bread it was both inelegant and an explosion of pure ecstasy. The dough so soft and the salt was what my body had been missing, and I don't think it was a simply because I had had no food or liquid since early in AM due to hospital tests. No this bread would have tasted like ambrosia even had I sated all hunger moments before. It's good stuff, eat more and lots.
