My favorite pizza place in the lower mainland. I have had pizza all over the world, all over Italy and Switzerland etc high end and hole in the walls. This place is well worth the travel. They also have another location Deep Cove pizza. I’d describe it as an Italian/Greek hybrid with a crunchy bready dough/crust. Personal favorites are Funghi and Margherita
Pizza was not bad, but very suspicious to me that the size of a large pizza isn't actually on the menu anywhere. My Large Margherita came in at 13 inches for $29.45 +tax +tip which is by far the most expensive pizza by square foot I've ever eaten in my entire life by a lot. It was not bad though, and I do like olives. If you don't like olives then definitely do not get the Margherita. Glad I checked it out since it's a local spot, but I just don't see myself coming back
A historic stop, an absolute must. Peter owns and operates this location and is open to tell you the history of his pies. It is a labor of love to keep his dough and toppings fresh but it is easy to taste why. When it comes from making pizzas for as long at Peter has, it's proof is in the end product. Cooked to perfection and never a singe part over powering another. The crust is its own reward. Please give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
We enjoyed our Saturday afternoon here by having home made lasagna and spaghetti. Cosy and friendly with a nice gentle man as the owner
Went here twice looking for a new permanent pizza place nearby. First time was amazing: cheese was melty, toppings were laid out perfectly, dough was crisp but fluffy, it was worth the price. Second time, same pizza, different employee... cheese was hard and burnt, toppings stacked and few between, and the dough was overdone. I don't wanna risk a bad pizza at this price, don't feel confident ordering again may give it some time
Astonished at the price for quantity. Mediocre pizza at a price that suggests excellence. Large pie will cost around $40. Very doughy, chewy crust, not crisp or containing any qualities you would expect of a pizza. This “gourmet” style I’m guessing is advertised to people who find value in a $40 pizza, who don’t know any better. Slices are priced at $4.50 plus tax, aren’t your typical large pizza slice. They are a tiny, four bite slice which look to have been cut out of a medium or small size pizza. Sitting in a pile of pizza on a back counter - not so gourmet. Quite pathetic. You’re looking at around $9.00 plus tax for the amount of pizza slice you would normally pay around $3.50 plus tax. If you are a pizza lover out looking for a good pizza, I would give this a miss. If you’re looking to spend a pile of money for a subpar pizza, this is definitely the place for you.
We order the "Romana" pizza from here every Sunday. It has become a tradition in our home. They treat you like family and we are happy to support a great friendly local mom and pop restaurant. They do a more traditional style pizza with quality toppings, but apparently their style doesn't always appeal to the lowest common denominator - those looking for bargain cheese boats and under cooked crust - most of the one star reviews on here are from the kind of people who would complain that a french baguette is too hard and chewy because they expect wonder bread. If your not afraid of bold flavour and a thin crust you should definitely give it a try. Personally I hope they never change.
Pizza is delicious BUT I will not be ordering again. On Tuesday night, I ordered a large Hawaiian and a small vegetable pizza. The bill was $55, before tip - I'm sorry, but that's just outrageous. Also, they promised me it would be delivered in an hour and it was an hour and a half. I live just a few blocks away from the restaurant, so didn't think that was acceptable at all. And I'd give the late delivery time a pass but the price is just way too much.
Very happy we tried your pizza. Been searching for a family owned and operated, non thin crust pizza place for a while and you didn’t disappoint us. Crust is thick and crisp, toppings were fresh and full and the service was fantastic. Thank you for making great pizza
Italian classic pizza?????? No it's not. For the price that we paid, we were expecting something better than the cheese laden pizzas that we picked up. Had thought that we were going to be getting some nice and light thin crust pizzas. Could have spent half the amount for the same quality at a chain restaurant.
