The Legendary Colophon Cafe and Deli, located in the historic Fairhaven district of Bellingham, Washington

We feature a daily menu of soup specials and post our Monthly Soup Calendar so you won't miss your favorite! We have a rotating menu of over 35 different soups – everything from exotic African Peanut Soup to New England Clam Chowder.

One thing that makes this restaurant special is that we strive to satisy the needs and desires of each customer on an individual basis. Every meal is made to order with the time and attention it takes to get it right. Our menu offers a wide variety of mouth-watering options, featuring many vegetarian and gluten free alternatives.

The Colophon Cafe also serves some of the best salads, sandwiches and quiches in town. We have many vegetarian and low-fat foods and can accommodate special dietary requests.

Our desserts have been featured in almost every Northwest publication as well as Bon Appetit and Fodor’s Northwest. Our Peanut Butter Pie and Chocolate Chunk Cake are legends in the Northwest. The Colophon Cafe has been locally owned in the heart of Historic Fairhaven since 1985. The Pythias Building in which our cafe is housed was built in 1981, when Fairhaven was a bustling frontier town; serving as a meeting hall for the Elks, the Woodsmen of America and other Secret Societies. The original ballroom is still located upstairs and yes, it is haunted! Come dine with us, and enjoy the charm of one of Bellingham's most famous neighborhoods.

Very good vegetarian options. We particularly like the power salad, black bean burger, veggie quiche, baked artichoke dip, and the portabella mushroom sandwich. Colophon is closed after 11/16 for a while.... We'll miss you and we hope you'll be back soon!
nice place to meet and catch up with family. the staff was friendly and sociable. prices are decent for the quality. food is similar to a cafe in indianapolis i loved.
Been here quite a few times and never had a negative experience. Clam chowder is quite good along with their French dip. Quite a good selection on their menu. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Delicious dessert options .
The food here was really good and the amount was ample. The staff is also very hospitable and pleasant. They have some vegeterian/vegan options which are also tasty. The coffee was good too. Pretty chill environment inside
An utterly delightful place where you can get a good taste of what the rest of Bellingham might have to offer you food wise. Cozy, warm service, good food taken from the area, do yourself the pleasure of eating here if you have the time and money for it.
Wonderful food, they have delicious soups, sandwiches and desserts. The staff was attentive and professional. It is a smaller local restaurant with a cozy feel.
