I'm really disappointed with my experience at Saint Anne. People are very weird towards people of colour . The teachers either ignore you or point you out in a very negative way. Students give you horrible stares when you have a different skin color or accent. I've never felt this way at any other school. This is shameful. The environment is not focused on diversity . Other than that the school has a non-competitive environment and encourages team work which is good.
I attended this CEGEP in 2018-2019 and appreciated the innovative teaching methods. However, I encountered significant challenges due to a lack of diversity and inclusivity. As a person of color, I often felt out of place in a predominantly white student body, where some students displayed overtly racist behavior. This created an unwelcoming environment that took a serious toll on my mental health.nnAnother issue was the limited mental health support. When I struggled academically, I felt unsupported by professors who favored certain students, with one in particular taking an accusatory approach. This left me feeling distraught and hesitant to seek help.nnMy advice to students of color considering this school is to be aware that many students come from privileged backgrounds and may be closed off to those outside their social circles.nnWhile this was my experience years ago, I recently connected with a former classmate who shared similar concerns. I would be open to discussing these issues with the administration to help create a more inclusive environment for future students.
Actual student here, in arts. Very disappointed of the previous comment saying that it’s not bilingual and especially critiquing the staff. Most of the staff is amazing and the school is as bilingual as possible in a francophone province. Great teachers for the most and an interesting and very revolutionary way of teaching arts and innovations, especially taking in consideration that the school still have to respect some ministry requirements. It’s an overall great investment for education not a single regret for the time spent here. Plus we know how to have fun, here in school measurements!!
