Always great food and atmosphere. Chef Mark has been consistently making signature dishes that are full of flavor and deliciousness. Service is excellent and friendly, even when they are busy. This is a well run family business. My only negative would be the portions are on the small side for the price you pay, sometimes a little more would be nice.
Given the number of good reviews of the Clock Tower we may not have been there on a good night. The service was fine - a little slow but not terrible. The food however was disappointing. For some reason whoever was in the kitchen over cooked both the expensive fish we ordered as well as my wife's hamburger. We returned the fish which did not arrive back until the others were done eating. The recommended lemon pie seemed to be whipped cream with lemon flavoring and had an inedible crust. At $130 for the four of us, I expected better.
Such a great restaurant. Amazing atmosphere, exceptional service and mouth watering food. Food - so many good options. We had the strawberry, peach brushetta to start and it was so delicious. My bf ordered the steak with risotto and I ordered the halibut with mashed potatoes. Both were made very well and plated with elegance. For desert we had the creme brulee and it was made perfect. Atmosphere - the restaurant has different sections which makes it quiter and peaceful. As well the tables were nicely spread out. Service - we had a very friendly and personable server that made great recommendations. Would definitely recommend Will be back
We just finished a dinner with friends at the Clocktower. We are regulars at the restaurant and occasionally will meet friends for a drink or meal. Tonight we had reservations for 8 and were socializing with friends when we were told the kitchen would be closing at 9. We placed our order and 3 out of 4 of us received our meal at the same time, while a portion of the 4th order showed up later. While we were eating, staff started to clean the floor and put chairs on tables around us. We were quickly asked if we would like take out boxes for the food we were still eating and then our bills were presented shortly after. We payed our bills and were finishing our drinks when Cathy came to our table and said with her mouth full of food that she was going to take our glasses. As we were finishing our conversations Cathy then decided to “dim” the lights this was 9:40pm. I specifically asked to speak with the manager after this rude customer behaviour and Cathy came. When discussing how rude the actions of cleaning up around us while eating and dimming the lights, she had no remorse and continued to be incredibly rude. Not a great response for a small town restaurant. Prior to this experience I would recommend this restaurant to others but unfortunately not anymore.
Sorry, I couldn’t wait long enough to take pictures of the food! We were starving and the shrimp tacos and wagu burger were amazing! Very flavourful and well presented. The server even brought me a nice chipotle sauce for the burger. Pleasant atmosphere with beautiful rustic accents. Everyone was friendly and helpful, as we came during the Santa Claus parade and were looking for an escape route. lol We will definitely be coming back!
I had the beet and goat cheese salad with salmon very good. Salmon could have had a little more flavor. My partner had the Pizza which he always does there.
My group of 10 booked an engagement dinner here as one of the staff had kindly recommended a private area of seating where we could book for special occasions etc. When I called to book the SPECIFIC room the associate mentioned they had another party AT 7pm and that we were good to book for 530pm - without issue - she reassured me we would have the luck of booking this area, otherwise we WOULDNT have booked at all. Upon arrival, Mark's wife part owner Cathy, poorly greeted us and immediately became defensive when I questioned her as to why she was seating us in the regular dining area. As if not being seated where we booked wasnt enough, what truly ruined our event was Cathy's abrasive, standoff and appalling customer service. Absolutely shocking. Cathy blankly looked at us and didn't hesitate to say "does it really matter?", "this is a restaurant and there is other people here so what do you want me to do?" - eventually not willing to make eye contact with me and walking away. I could not process her ugly treatment towards my group, where was this hostility coming from? We asked to book an area, your staff said yes, we arrived ahead of time, there was no such availability for us - BUT SOME HOW Cathy manages to make US FEEL LIKE IT IS OUR FAULT? Sorry, thats not how this works. Cathy then decides to get her husband Chef Mark of which attempted a different approach to the situationfrom his wifes' but fell short of a minimal basic apology. Mark had to be reminded that this was THEIR error and at no point had anyone taken accountability or shown a SLIVER of courteous "customer service". No accommodations were made. Yet, no one sat in the room UNTIL 7PM. No genuine apology was provided and no more business from us. So unfortunate, owners were quick to deflect fault and blame. However, we are happy to give credit where its due. A warm thank you to our waitress Laura and Jayden who were BEYOND phenomenal despite the circumstances... picking up their management's mess with their sincere efforts and service. My group thanks you as they should as well .
We had a lovely lunch there. Staff was friendly! Food was awesome. I love the turkey on the croissant...Food: 5/5
Room was not as advertised, fireplace not working, window broken, carpet had 'bubble' which was a safety issue, heater not working, light fixture had 5 different coloured lightbulbs, tv had problem with cables, so only a snowy picture.Food: 1/5
Lunched here today with a good friend his pick of eateries this time and we were both pleasantly impressed on all counts of how we measure our likelihood of a return visit. The setting, the service and of course the all important quality of the food were top marks in each category. Just a short drive from London and definitely worth the travel. Our food tasted fresh and as important, freshly made. Well thought out combination of flavour and ingredients. Value for money props and no shortage of choice on the lunch menu. The server and all staff we interacted with were pleasant and accommodating and speed of service and timing were spot on. Rarely do I sub in something for fresh fries but today I spun the wheel on the French Onion soup and it was absolutely a good choice. It seems to be a signature dish and for good reason. Top ratings for both recommend to friends and to return. Well done Clock Tower Bistro-Pub.
