ClearHeart Counselling

It has taken me a long time to build up the guts to write this review. I saw Jennifer mcintosh a couple years back. Let’s just say after my couple sessions I left worse than I had arrived. She recommended me and my partner at the time to both see her separately for couples counselling which my new therapist has advised against. By doing that she wasnt approaching me fairly. I didn’t feel heard or understood. My partner at the time also thought she spoke more than listened and I can agree with that. I have since found a new therapist who has been very collaborative.

I don't have experience with Elaine, she seems wonderful from all these reviews, but I do have experience with one of the other team members - Stephen. Stephen made me feel like I was a fascinating subject to be dissected, not a person with whom he was trying to work with. He repeatedly tried to push past a boundary I established with something I didn't' want to talk about in the first session and ignored my husband's point of view and opinion of the situation. The only positive thing about that session was that my husband and I were drawn closer together by the awful experience we had.

My experience with Elaine at ClearHeart helped my strike at the root of my problems. She is brilliant , compassionate and best of all, curious. I think the world of her, and if you are every able to get an appointment with her, you will too.

Overall I had a great experience with Stephen as my counselor. I struggled with anxiety and Stephen was great at listening and validating my concerns. At no point did I feel any sort of judgment. Stephen also helped me come up with practical strategies that I could use to help manage my anxiety, which helped tremendously.

My family has worked with ClearHeart for several years. The team provides a wonderful environment and clear and thoughtful support as we navigate the challenges life throws at us. I have recommended ClearHeat to other friends who has also spoken of an overwhelmingly positive experience.

I worked with Stephen for about 2 months during which time I found him to be a highly skilled and intuitive practitioner. He provided me with many valuable insights and some much-needed clarity, all in an incredibly caring and supportive manner. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone, and I have already referred several close friends and colleagues. Thank you, Stephen.

Elaine is a very kind person with a warm and calming presence. She is strong yet approachable and is the best mix of everything you're looking for. She is fantastic at what she does, and is an expert in her field. I highly recommend working with her and I enjoy our sessions together. I walk away and try to work on things we have discovered. It has helped me a lot!
