I loved my time at the city of rocks. Some of the camping sites are nestled right up in the rocks which makes for a cool environment. The hiking options are spectacular with amazing views of rock formations. Numerous options for rock climbing and bouldering. If you bring a dog make sure you follow the park rules and keep it on a leash less than 6 ft long. Drones are also not allowed in the park, despite being a perfect opportunity for some cool shots! Wish you could but at least you can climb to the top Bath Rock and have a great vista of the park. It’s also an amazing spot for astrophotography.

Love climbing in the city. It's such a great place. World class. I wish there was more camping available. Also a lot of people don't leash their dog so be ready to deal with their dog while you climb.

The City of Rocks is a National Reserve that is an awesome family destination that affords such activities as hiking, camping and even hunting. Beautiful walks that offer scenic views near the California Trail, unequal photographic 📷 opportunities, world-class technical rock climbing, horseback riding, picnicking and birding. Since I'm a fat, lazy American, I chose to use my automobile and tour the reserve via the City of Rocks unpaved road. Make sure to hit the visitor's center in Alma, ID first for maps and brochures of this beautiful park.

I read that only about 100,000 people visit City of Rocks annually, which is insane to me. This place is incredible, right up there with Yellowstone or Grand Teton National parks. Can’t wait to camp there this summer.

The rocks are a really pretty sight, but if you do go there go to the castle rocks too because it's also great. If you go to either or both plan to go hiking and climbing. Also great 4 a photo shoot.
