I really enjoyed myself. The staff and bartender did a amazing job. Cook served up a delicious meal and everything was very tasty and satisfying. Prices were high but I did not leave hungry. The space is romantic and warm. Had the special which was a pork stuff pasta. So yummy. Will go again for sure. Area is nice and views are good. Great Italian restaurant. Did not try any wine. Was to into trying the cocktails which I felt were well done. Also had a dessert which was so tasty and large it was easy to share with my lady. Great night out.
The food was pretty good and dishes very picturesque, but one thing left a sour taste in our mouths. I called a day before our reservation to ask if I could request no lamb for the tasting menu my SO doesn't eat lamb and I don't enjoy it and the gentleman on the phone assured me no lamb was included. After ordering the tasting menu, the fourth dish that was brought to us was lamb. We asked if they could make something else instead and, after checking with the chef, our server responded "unfortunately with the tasting menu, you get what you get". We explained the situation and still nothing could be done.
Fantastic higher end restaurant with wonderful ambience, service, and food. We dined family style and had a variety of items from across the menu. All of the dishes had well balanced flavours and textures and we did not regret a single one of our choices. Highlights include the oxtail and baby zucchini blossoms, which as the name suggests featured super tender oxtail. The duck breast was also notable, having a nice savory flavour offset with a bit of tartness from a cherry demi glace. The doughnut dessert was also amazing - crispy on the outside with a soft rich interior. You get quite a few so be prepared to eat or take some home!
An amazing meal with knowledgeable, bright, and friendly service. My wife, Mom, and I came for dinner. We had incredible service with lots of laughs and shared experiences. From drinks to appetizers to mains everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. Our server had a story for every dish about where it came from and what inspired it. I had to finish with the chocolate cake and gelato, which was a prefect end to our awesome meal.
Great service and amazing food. Pasta was made fresh and the flavors were great! Drinks were also tasty
The pasta is unreal cant beat it. The wild boar was cooked perfectly. Highly suggest the cheese plate to start. Server was very helpful explaining the menu. And theres actually parking! Definately will be at the top of my list for Italian food.
Very friendly and polite staff and the food was amazing, specially their pastas, and their cocktails were quite delicious, specially their Zagara Sunshine.
The 5 course meal was fantastic. The varied tasting notes were awesome.
Dear friends, Amazing service from Jose! He took care of us and made a great recommendation for our wine pairing with the Parpadelle Ragu. The octopus appetizer was such a pleasant surprise too..seafood well cooked and the dill oil was so refreshing!! We decided to order dessert and got the limoncello donuts....and OH MY GOODNESS. So light, fluffy, delightful...not too sweet. We gobbled them up even though we thought we were too full... So glad we finally got to try Cibo. Many good reviews and recommendations from friends and foodies. Definitely understand why they encouraged us to go...and we would highly recommend it, too!!
This is my first time at Chibo in Oliver Village. As per the website the tables were nicely lit with candles. There was five in our party and we were tucked away in a very nice alcove. It allowed for more privacy and reduced the average noise of a nice restaurant. The best Antipasti was the Arancini which was made with braised cabbage, speck ham, Italian Fontina, and Pecorino. One of the ladies and I both had the Polpette. Their veal and pork meatballs, with tomato sugo, dried apricots, peperoncini, pine nuts, and Pecorino were very nice but was almost a meal in itself. The server was excellent and warned us that the Antipasti can, maybe or should be shared. All three of our Antipasti were shared and were excellent. My wife had the Pan Fried Ricotta Cakes These ricotta, chicken conserva, tomato basil jam, and basil oil were very nice and probably my favorite. I had the Tagliatelle Bolognese which has slow simmere ragu with Parmigiano Reggiano My wife had the ravioli which was roasted squash and ricotta, brown butter, and Pecorino Toscana. She really enjoys her ravioli. For dessert my wife had the Panna Cotta which was pistachio custard, moscato poached pear, toasted pistachio, and saba. the poached pears was lost on the dessert. We agreed the Zeppole was the best. One of our friends and the Zeppole which was Limoncello Mascarpone doughnuts with powdered sugar. There was seven of them and all five of us had one each. They were very good. I asked if they would sell just the gelato since I did not want to overeat. The answer was no which was unfortunate since it was the first time in any of four continents that I could not just have ice cream / gelato. Considering the price this evening will cost it was one of two aspects I did not like and it is one that is kept in my mind. The other was my chair. Please see the photo. Yes we will come back but I will eat ice cream earlier in the day. :
