Christie Pits Park is a great option for parks with lots of activities for family, friends or solo visitors.nnThe park has direct access to the Christie subway exit on the green line and several bus stops. There are many restaurants, shops, banks and markets in the neighborhood, and it is also the starting point for the Christmas parade.nnThe park has a great playground for children, and it is in front of the barbecue and picnic areas. In addition, it has a large green area, a baseball field, a skateboard park, a skating rink and a public swimming pool that opens in the summer.nnThe path does not have many barriers for visitors with reduced mobility or who use wheelchairs, but it is important to be aware of the cars on the avenue and the elevation on the side of the park.nnThere are public restrooms, including those adapted for visitors with disabilities.nnThere are private parking lots in the area and paid parking lots.
Pros:n-Convenient Location: The park is very accessible, situated just a short walk from Christie Subway Station, making it easy to reach by public transportation.nn-Family-Friendly Amenities: There’s a well-maintained playground for children, featuring swings and other play structures that make it a great spot for families.nn-Dog-Friendly: The park welcomes dogs, though owners are required to keep their pets on a leash at all times. It’s a nice spot to bring your dog for a walk or a bit of exercise.nn-Skateboarding Area: The park offers a designated space for both kids and adults to enjoy skateboarding, with ramps and smooth surfaces perfect for practicing tricks.nnCons:n-Presence of Homeless People: Like many urban parks, there are occasionally homeless individuals in the area. This can sometimes make the environment feel less safe or uncomfortable for some visitors. While the park is generally well-kept, this issue may affect your overall experience at certain times of the day.
Another great park in the city. This one is for everyone. Has a pool, skatepark, basketball court, baseball, bbq area and playground for kids. It’s very lively with all different crowds. The pic added was past 9pm, still packed.
It's a pretty cool place to come and read, meet new people and just relax. So many diverse lifestyle in there with communities of people. Though one thing I noticed in my two time visit is some of the sitting areas has specific people always there, might be their OWN spot in the park, but other than that it's enjoyable to roam around.
July 2021 Christie Pits is a very decent sized neighbourhood park with a playground, baseball diamond, basketball court and outdoor swimming pool. Public restrooms available. Nice place for a picnic or just lounging in the park. Winter time, great for tobogganing despite the signs indicating it's prohibited. In Autumn, very nice fall colour leaves from mature trees.
