I do not understand the bad reviews for Chris' Independent -- which imo is the best Canadian grocery store and I've lived all across the country. The cashiers, the produce, the manager, the guys and gals who make the yummy chicken wings. Even the shelf stockers are great. Everyone -- and I mean absolutely everyone -- has been polite to me when I need to find something. All the cashiers are wonderful at the checkout too -- and those at the self-checkout are always helpful and friendly when I screw up. Which I almost always do! You can buy books, clothes, cards, plants, wine at the best Wine Rack in Canada. Stephanie, the manager, keeps things so pristine, polished and well-stocked in her shop and all the staff are great. I love grocery shopping -- and this is the best place to do it! Whole Foods in Beverly Hills is a close second! lol!
I feel bad for the lobsters. My mom is letting me write this today because the lobsters are so sad and tied up and they can't move or swim or get sunshine on them. Then they will be boiled alive. I hope when I die I don't come back as a lobster. I think I belive in reincarnation.nThank You very much and have a good day everyone.

I have been going to this grocery store for years now. I have been wanting to purchase frozen carrot muffins for some time now and even spoke to Chris the owner about this the beginning of December and he mentioned he would let the bakery department know that it is ok to sell frozen ones. I have been there three time since before Xmas and asked to purchase them and the women behind the counter always gives me attitude and is very rude.nnTwice she stated that they only have what’s on the shelf and the last time I was there, not sure if it was her boss but she stated she would look in the freezer to see if she had any and just opened the door did not even walk into the cooler and said no we don’t have any.nnI had gone to the Lively store twice last year and they went above and beyond to get me the muffins. They go to the back behind the meat department and get the muffins for me.nnI always shop at Chris’s independent as this is my preferred store but don’t believe this person behind the bakery counter is doing what’s best for the owner and the business if she is that rude and unpleasant towards the customers.
$20 for 9 chicken tenders and two Dixie cups for side as a “family” meal. The quality of this store is gone. It’s all about squeezing a dollar out of me rather than making quality products.
