Choko-Mocko Family Bake Shop and Cafe

Family bake shop offering a wide selection of gluten free and vegan baked goods. We've been here twice. Our first visit, we were a little annoyed with the lady serving us. When we asked, what's popular, good or what she'd recommend, she said everything. Not very helpful. After looking around, we orderd the quinoa brownie and a cream filled chocolate cookie. The brownie was light and delicious. The cookie was too sugary. During our second visit, we had a much better service experience as we met the owner who was much more helpful with recommending several baked goods. We ordered the chocolate cake and red velvet cream filled cookie and they were delicious. Will definitely come again.

Used to love Choko-Mocko. The products were phenomenal so I could deal with the prices. Quality has gone down within the last year and a half. Went in on my lunch break a few months ago, took my entire lunch break (45 minutes) to get the food so my co-worker and I had to basically inhale the food to get back to work, which we were late returning. During that experience, I noticed a food in my hair but was in such a rush that I couldn't even mention it to the staff. Have been in for baked goods once or twice again, but doubt I will order ever another entree.

As this was my first visit I would definately suggest the eggplant ragu as an excellent option. As this is on my way home will be stopping more frequently. Extremely knowledgeable staff and the food spectacular. Would recommend not to just vegan but for everyone to indulge.

I was really surprised that there's a vegan place in Ajax so I had to check it out. Food is tasty and unique. I'm just not too happy about the prices since it's a little overpriced and the portions are small. The main entrees are at $14 a piece considering the place isn't fancy at all. I will always try a restaurant at least once but I won't be coming back to this place. I can get cheaper vegan food elsewhere.

Very pricey. For two dessert items it came to $15 total! I understand it is gluten free, but unfortunately the desserts did not taste very good. The chocolate mousse cup was grainy, I suspect they use a packaged mix for the mousse. The other cake was stale and not sweet at all, just tasted like wheat. It had some flavourless heart shaped mousse on top. There are many more bakeries out there that have higher quality vegan and gluten free desserts. The man serving us was very friendly and attentive. The store was also well stocked with gluten free packaged goods. But I do not recommend going here for the baked goods. EDIT; Thank you to the owner to take the time and reply to my review. I'm happy that you and your bakery are doing so well. I am curious to know more about the award for best bakery as I unfortunately didn't see and posting of it in store and it is not mentioned on your website. Why would you not advertise that?
