Nick Lewis from ChoiceOne Bank and his incompetent underwriter are an embarassment to the banking industry. I applied for a mortgage loan and the #'s they came up with were so badly miscalculated, it was as if a chimpanzee had thrown darts at a calculator to come up with these jacked-up numbers. When your supposed "loan professional" doesn't even know the basic meaning of Year-To-Date income, that's when you know you're in trouble. Choice One? More like Choice None! Plus this bumbling bank employee is a clueless dinosaur with technology, not even knowing how to open a simple ZIP file of secure documents. Hello identity theft?

Customer service is fairly rare now days, and so when exceptional service happens, it makes it all the more impressive. My daughter is living abroad and was having difficulty using her bank card. The issue was fairly urgent as she was about to get on a flight. Vanessa at the Kent City Branch worked through the issue which proved to be a little tricky at first. She was so polite, patient and reassuring. She also partnered with another staff member when she wasn't finding success. I very much appreciated the way in which Vanessa helped me today!!

Tried to close my account now I'm paying over draft fees. I asked them how to clear it and they didnt give me a clear answer how to fight it.

15 plus minute wait to cash a check on Saturday morning. Not good.
