We are vegetarian and don’t eat garlic, scallions, and onion, they can accommodate our request and at the same time taste so good!! Metre Street parking available and easy to find. In Quebec, there r not much choices for ramen and this one is definitely a place to go.
Had the tonkotsu ramen with a few extras. The broth was a bit bland but the chashu pork was amazing. I highly suggest taking extra! The karaage was very good and warm. They give a good portion. The gyoza were ok, I thought they were unusual since they were made with chicken and not the traditional pork. However you can choose to have then steamed or fried. We also had Kimchi. I didn't quite like it since it was sweet and not sour like the traditional kimchi. The best were the sweet fried balls for dessert. They were stuffed with some kind of pastry cream and are freshly fried.
The restaurant is hidden in the basement but it gives it a cool Japanese underground vibe. We came here sunday night on patriots day and sure enough the restaurant had its first little section very full. The problem that night is that there was only 1 waitress for the whole restaurant doing drinks, ordering, serving etc. I think the restaurant should of anticipated more clients on a holiday and I do not know why they were short staffed but we waited 45 minutes just to get our drinks and 1 hour to get our ramen soup which is extremely long. One table left after 40 minutes of waiting whithout the waitress being able to come and see them to order at least drinks. I honestly feel bad for the waitress who was clearly rushing and could not work any faster than 1 human alone can. Again it was ridiculous for 1 waitress to take on the whole restaurant. I hope the restaurant realises they need to have 2 waitresses on nights like those and to be better prepared next time. *We were debating wether the restaurant deserved 2 or 3 stars. Depending on the ramen. 2 if the ramen had nothing special, 3 if the ramen was really good but its hard to give more due to the extreme waiting time for both drinks and food and a couple mistakes during the night. The menu is small and simple and puts emphasis on their home speciality which is their ramen. Then you have a bunch of little entres you can have like chicken balls, crab balls, edamame, etc The drinks were really good! I had Yuzu Classic which was sake with grapefruit and honey tea and my husband had the Japonese Beer and Matcha tea drink. Both were unique and very delicious. And finally the RAMEN. We had the Spicy Miso and it did satisfy our hunger and was a good big portion that we both barely finished, but only because it was very good. You know that broth that has not only saltiness but a distinct taste that is addicting and satisfying. You want more and you enjoy every bit of it. The taste was home made similar to the ones i make at home but better! And it is rare i can say something is better than how i make it. The miso and garlic oil definately gives it a special flavor. We both enjoyed it and the spicyness was perfect. Its a real spicy for those that can take it but it was too spicy for my husband so next time he would take the regular and add spicy oil to his tasting. We will probably come back, hopefully not wait so long next time and reassess if it actually deserves 4 stars.
Located at a corner of the busy street with lots of restaurants and pubs, it would be a good choice after all the alcohols The best part about Chika is they give you a good amount of noodles, as to some other places where you only get 3 or 4 bits of noodles. The Tonkutso is the most flavorful one. The Shiyo and Seafood both have the soy sauce base broth which was okay. Their pork slices have a little crunch around the edge.
Excellent spot for a cocktail and ramen! I definitely recommend the chashu pork! Service was extremely welcoming/friendly and the atmosphere was cozy and modern. Would be a great spot for a party. Lovely selection for whiskey to choose from as well! Will be visiting again next time we're in Quebec :Food: 5/5
We were glad to find this ramen place on New Year’s Eve. Appetizers were all delicious. Ramen soup was authentic.Recommended dishesFried Chicken, Tako Wasabi
Very nice ramen place. Their Miso Spicy Ramen, Tonkoso Ramen are a must try, very delicious. Affordable, delicious and huge servings.Recommended dishesMiso Spicy Ramen
My friend and I got miso spicy ramen and shoyu ramen. Both with pork Their ramen was really good and flavourful with a lot of ingredients in it! And a good portion too! We also ordered one of their cocktails forgot the name tasted like pineapple and coconut, and it was really good too! Their food are not too overpriced and affordable which I liked about this place. I definitely recommend this place for dining and drinks as well!
Not a huge fan of Japanese Ramen but this place ramen was good. We ordered miso, soyu and seafood ramen. All of them were delicious. Ordering machine didn't print out our order so we had to wait for 40 min to eat. They apologized. Left the entrance door opened and we smelled Marijuana from the street. Not a good place to bring your kids at night.
Not the best experience, not the worst. Service was bland and generic. The food reflected the same, inconsistent and tasting and feeling unauthentic.
