This Chicken Chef is the best one I’ve ever been to. I’ve been a number of times and the staff is fast and attentive. I had the two piece fish and chips, the fish fillets are quite large, I’m a big lad, and the two piece is more than sufficient. Mother had the Hawaiian salad once again.
I have been here several times and it's always been good, however this time it definitely wasn't!! The waitress never smiled once and was very rude. My friend had coleslaw that was really saturated with dressing and when she told them they said the chef thought it was fine although I had to spit it out when I tasted it!! When we got to the till and told them that both the service and coleslaw were not good they didn't even apologize! This was the first time in my life that I didn't leave a tip!!
Food was pleasant. Our waiter was very hospitable and amiable. Our hostess that greeted us seemed to be having a challenging day. Great food and especially the French onion soup!Recommended dishes2 Piece Chicken Meal, Poutine, 4 PC Chicken Dinner, Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner, Dinner 5 Breaded Chicken
Dine in service is good. Chicken was little salty. Onion rings was delicious. Only problem that I notice is we don't get bucket chicken for dine in. Its only available for takeout. I believe for a group bucket chicken should be more perfect to share some enjoyable moments. And the main thing.. Large pieces of chicken.. Goodd..

Every town in Manitoba says their's is the best Chicken Chef. While Arborg might be a strong contender, Portage surpasses it. Go look at the specials on Monday alone and you will see what I mean. Great quality, generous portions, good price.Food: 5/5
There was a hockey team there so it was very crowded and loud. The acoustics in the restaurant ar not the greatest so it's loud in there even without the hockey team. Great service and great food.Food: 5/5
Nice clean restaurant with lots of seating, parking and a drive-thru. The staff is friendly and courteous. The service is fast and accurate. The menu is quite extensive with a number of local features and all-day breakfast. This is a great place for larger groups too as they have a large private area.
We were welcomed with a disrespectful man leaning on to the door showing up his belly giving comments to other staff. I doubt if he know what hospitality is. The menu was well sanitized but sticky wet. We asked for a corner table and the server was rude and behaved like she is paying for our food. Plates had fancy curves with food left overs and wasn’t clean. We asked for a chardonnay but got a wrong one served by the manager with a very strange attitude we. The food was okay. All other staff except one Mariia were very disappointing. Mariia was very attentive, asked for feedbacks, always wear a smile on her face, she was the only reason for us not to cancel the entire order. Never suggest to anyone. Overall rating 0.5 out of 10. If this is how they are gonna treat the guest im pretty sure they are almost near the grave.
