My latest visit to this location was great! Although they were out of some ingredients when we came by on a weekend, service was really good and the guy made some great recommendations! The yogurt drinks are refreshing and more guilt-free, if you ask me! Love adding the taro balls & purple rice to my drink.
Love love this place! In the week we were in Vancouver, we went here twice -- once to get the purple rice drink, next to get the yam ball drink. And we loved them both. They come with the same yogurt base. Get the purple rice for a more chewy texture and the purple yam for a more boba-ish feel? Now I'll be frantically searching for a similar place in the Bay Area when we head back. Ooh, and most importantly, their logo is pretty neat
I was hoping for yogurt, like frozen yogurt and what a surprise. Ordered the bestseller black rice yogurt with mini taro balls $7+ The yogurt is more like sour milk and the rice is hard so drinking hard rice is NOT my idea of delicious no matter how cool the packaging is. Checked for trying out new places but definitely will not go back. I would give it zero stars but the staff was nice so I gave each a star
Had a friend buy me this yogurt, the taste of the yogurt is pretty good, but the purple rice was harder than it should’ve been. All the purple rice was on one side of the drink and once i started mixing it the yogurt was leaking and got all over my pants. The leak wasn’t coming from the top but from somewhere in the plastic container. TL;DR: the container is poor quality, drink is ok, would give it 1 star but gave it 2 because I got it for free.
I have been tired of drinking milk tea, and was pretty excited when I saw the yogurt drink in Vancouver. We got the yogurt with purple rice and my first couple sip was a bit tasteless but after a while it tasted better. I wasn't sure if it was an acquired taste, but definitely tasted healthier than milk tea so it feels good drinking it. The next day we came back and tried the yogurt with a yam ball and it was amazing. Love the rice balls. Super chewy. Cute logo, nice cup, nice drink and no guilt. Nice to grab while you are walking around downtown.
IG: @avibrantstory Location: -Chewgurt Crystal Mall, Burnaby BC Thoughts on service: - Not very welcoming Sorry to say that! - Just a simple hello/hi is the only acknowledgement I received. Considering this is a dead hour when I passed by! Its not like they are too busy! - Didnt helped much on the menu! I think for first timer - the menu is a bit different from boba places which is understandable since its a Yogurt Place. But the cashier didnt really explained what the store can offer. They saw me looking at the menu for loooong time and didnt even offered to help how the menu works. Its very disappointing. Even handing the receipt is just non-verbal pass between customer and cashier. Thoughts on the drink: - Was pleased with the mango and yogurt flavour. Bit pricey and the size doesnt speak for the price! Maybe I will try some more drinks but very disappointed with this location! Hopefully the Robson Location has better service! But Burnaby location is nearer on my place, ugh. Overall, promising drinks but needed a bit of help with the menu like explain why they chose yogurt or how their drinks differ from other boba places.
I finally had a chance to visit @chewgurtyummy yogurt drinks! If you guys remember, these drinks started gaining popularity in the Richmond Night Markets a few years ago for their “Purple Rice Yogurt” This is a healthier alternative to your regular boba as they blend yogurt, fresh fruits and your favourite toppings like mini yam balls, taro balls, and purple rice! I had the purple yam and mango yogurt. It’s got a good balance of sweetness and a bit of tartness too. I love the perfect chewiness of the purple rice and taro balls. My favourite was the purple yam but the mango would be a close second It’s worth a try for the unique taste and the quality of the ingredients and it being healthier than bubble tea
I purchased a classic rice yogurt from here, went into the car and tried to use the straw to poke a hole on the plastic cap like any other normal person. But as I was using force to poke, the yogurt bursted out from the sides, spilling everywhere. Turns out the cap was not fully sealed and the dripped all over my skirt and my friends car seat… This is extremely unacceptable for a drink shop. If this is the only type of product you sell and the only packaging you have, at least do a decent job on it. I am extremely sorry for my friend’s none leather car seat because it’s going to stain and probably needs a wash. I want the owner to PLEASE double check your sealing machine to make sure it’s working, or make sure your staff is well trained. Don’t let this happen to another unfortunate customer! This is my first 1 star review ever given on Google and I think it well deserved it.
Cute store on Robson, next to all those ramen places. They have a lot of rotating promos going on constantly, so check their social media and/or website for great deals. Yogurt drinks are not comparable to bubble tea or fruit drinks/tea. In the simplest way to describe it, it's flavoured yogurt with a less viscous consistency, so it does have a tart aftertaste. My order: Mango Yogurt: Tastes like real mango, not the syrup-y taste. Yummy Peach Yogurt: I personally liked the peach flavour one more, it does have a less viscous consistency than the mango. It's a small container, but the drinks are quite filling as it is thick.
Chewgurt Yummy had Buy One Get One Free yesterday, so I got a chance to try two tropical flavours at the same time. My choices are Hawaii Pineapple and Mango Yogurt. Both drinks are very refreshing and aromatic. Perfect balance between sweetness and sourness. I feel that they are especially good for drinking after a big meal. A little bit pricy, but worth a try.
