Fantastic food and friendly service! Great vegetarian options the Cantonese chow mein was the best I’ve had in a long time! and super tasty fried rice. Meat eaters loved the general Tao chicken and beef with broccoli. Our new go-to Chinese takeout… can’t wait to order again!
The food here is fantastic for Canadian Chinese cuisine. They give you a ton of food for the price. Dinner for 2 can last big eaters at least 2 meals, if not 3. Most places only give you two spring rolls or egg rolls. This place gives you 4 giant egg rolls, open ended or regular. The people working there are very friendly. One big thing I noticed is that they pre-emptively called a customer because they missed something in an order, so they can offer the customer a choice on how to get what they are missing. Vegetarian options: Menu has lots of vegetarian options. Some are probably even vegan. Kid-friendliness: Lots of options available, picky kids should be able to get something. Parking: It's in a small strip mall, plenty of parking.
Service was fast amd friendly. Pad Thai was not as sweet more salty than sweet as I'm used to but was good and rice noodle was good quality. Egg roll was tasty and would recommend.
The food was delicious I just don’t understand how I paid so much for fried wontons which are usually filled with meat and/or cream cheese and received wonton chips that are inedible. Very disappointed as I had high hopes for this item and that is my reason for taking away a star. Otherwise the food was good and the garlic wings were a highlight.
Tried this place for the first time 2 days ago. Person who answered the phone for my delivery order was really nice and Clarified my order before hanging up. Said it would take 35-40 min. It took an hour. I Dont care though... the restaurant industry is still having a tough time and I'm not going to get upset over waiting for food as no one should. The delivery guy was very nice. I have to say this is the best Chinese food I have had in years!! Only issue was Cantoeese Chow mien the noodle around the edge were really dry but in the middle was fine. Egg rolls and everything else yummy!!! Very $$$$ but worth what I paid and that's all that matters. Will absolutely recommend and order from here again. Gave $10.00 tip to delivery guy as you should always tip!!!
My first time ordering from Chen's Kitchen and It was really good. I have been a Ruby Inn Bank and Walkley patron for 40 years, but now living in Barrhaven, I want to support local businesses, and I'm looking for a Cantonese takeout restaurant that I as good or even better than Rubies. So far, Chen's Kitchen has come pretty close. The food was hot and delicious for tonight's pre-hospital night shift dinner! The only negative for me anyway would be that the plum sauce was a little spicier than I like it, but everything else was top notch Cantonese food! I would highly recommend Chen's Kitchen!
Delicious, first time trying #3. Loved the plum sauce so tasty. Everything was perfect. I drove from the west end as my regular Chinese restaurant was closed! Gonna be my new go to place from now on! Was worth the drive!
Just ordered a couple takeout dishes and found it to be very average. They were nice people, but the food was not the 5 star rating other people were giving. Maybe 3.5 stars.
Found this gem last year and it's the only place I'll get my Chinese food from. The food is always cooked perfectly, the vegetables are always crisp, never soggy. The portions are also very generous. I just had the General Taos chicken and Cantonese Chow Mein, delicious.
Just ordered the beef pad kee and it was EXTREMELY SALTY!!! Way too much soy sauce if u ask me!! I won’t be ordering this again…but, the meat spring rolls were great!
