This is my first time doing business with a chimney sweep as we bought our house this year and have never had a chimney swept before. I would not recommend their chimney sweep service. The first time we scheduled a sweep, the sweeper arrived 30 minutes before the appointment. As we were not home, we were left a message stating that he had other clients and couldn't wait around for us. When we called back, we were advised that sweepers could arrive anywhere between 30 minutes prior to 30 minutes after; information we were not told when we initially booked. For the rescheduled appointment a week later, the sweeper arrived 45 minutes late, and introduced himself as 'Where is your chimney?' (not rude but not pleasant either). Price for the sweep was also $25 over what we were quoted. Apparently having a hybrid wood/electric Benjamin furnace costs more to sweep (original quote over the phone was $149.47 taxes in; our final bill was $172.46); again, this could have been told to us over the phone. I will not be calling them again next year. At least the work is done and I have something to present to my insurance company. Perhaps others will have better service. Note: I cannot speak to their in-store service or their in-home installation service.

In the last 5 years I have purchased one insert and one wood stove from them. I was very happy with both installations which were done well and professionally. They gave me a good price and came when they said they would and did a great job.

Chimney sweep never showed up for the appointment. After calling to see what happened I was told he was too busy and didn't have time to come. Despite this, I never got a call to advise me of the cancellation. When I called to complain they said I had to book a new appointment weeks away as there was no more availability. After some minutes of explaining the absurdity of this to the lady on the phone said she would call me back, but nobody ever did. Missed a days of work over this. Don't call this company, they're unreliable and don't really care.

Just had a Regency CI2600 catalytic wood insert installed a week ago. Glad to say that our winter living is forever changed because of it. It is easy to use, quiet and efficient. It heats up our whole house quite easily. Chelsea Chimney offered a pretty good quote to start with. The owner came out twice to look at our fireplace. The installation took some effort to complete, as the opening of our fireplace was a bit tight for the unit, but the two guys who installed it worked really hard to get it done properly. They were resourceful, professional and friendly. I have been to the store several times before and after the installation, and have always been offered useful information. I am satisfied with my experience and would highly recommend the service of Chelsea Chimney to others.
