The food is absolutely delicious. Some friends and I went for dinner and we were not disappointed with the quality. The atmosphere was very nice. The only downside was the wait time. We waited a little over 2 hours to get our food. There was only 1 server working thay day and it got quite busy. Take nothing away from the quality of the food, however an additional server would have helped quite a bit. Hopefully this was a one off as this was my first time there.
Beautiful restaurant with traditional music and warm atmosphere. Very clean.... The owner is very polite and accommodating. This chef is passionate about his food you can tell! Food is delicious and authentic. I've been to many Indian restaurants across the country in my time and this is a winner by far.
I visited this restaurant on a work trip to Terrace. The service was extremely poor. The server ignored me for the first 20 minutes and after getting my order I had to wait for almost an hour to get the food. I ordered chicken korma and garlic Naan on the side. I noticed that they have put mozzarella cheese in both the stew and the bread. This is something I've never seen before and it made the dish way heavier than it usually is. The rice was clearly reheated and very dry. The visit was quite disappointing and I'm sad to see such a beautiful spot has such bad service and bizarre food alternations. They also charge me $7 for one piece of bread with cheap processed cheese in the middle.
The food is delicious, and the presentation is beautiful. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. There seemed to be only one person working, which made the wait for the food a bit longer we arrived at 1:30pm so a bit late for a typical lunch, but the wait was well worth it. The food was hot and fresh and flavourful!Food: 5/5
0 star for here. We went during weekday little past the lunch time 1:50 pm. Super slow service, we got our food at 3:08 pm. 1 hour to prepare for 2 curry, pakoras, and 1 sizzling dish. My sizzling chicken was burnt to black, and all I could taste was bitterness and dry rubbery chicken. Server/cook only 1 person made it again, still not better. Didn't bother to ask again. What a joke. Look at the picture, chicken, and all the BURNT veggies. NOT edible. Other dishes were okay, but not good. We didn't even pack the food that was more than half-remained, becasue we wouldn't eat them at all.
Best East Indian food we have had in a long time. Everything was freshly made from scratch. Highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant.Food: 5/5
Awesome tasty Indian food in a small town like Terrace is like an oasis in the desert. Quantity of the food is also great for the price. I had Mango Lassi, Veg Kadai with Mushroom and Garlic Butter Naan. Everything was delicious. My only critic would be to add more butter and garlic on the naan.
As a Surrey girl, I know good Indian food when I have it. And oh man did this deliver. Our food was all hot, and came in a good amount of time. The Chef came around and made sure to talk to each table. The ambience was beautiful. I'm so glad I found this gem!
Tried Chef Abhi for the 1st time this past Friday for lunch. We were the only 2 people in the restaurant . We had to wait over an hour for an order of vegetable Pakoras and 1 vegetarian dish and 1 roti bread. Well when the pakoras arrived they were so over fried they were almost burnt. They were very oily and loaded with onions. My husband only ate a few because he was very hungry. He said they were horrible. He saved the rest for the dogs. My vegetable dish wasn't much better. The seasoning made my stomach all cramp up. We both left feeling very disappointed and very hungry. The best part of the meal was an okay roti and the rice and costs us about 50.00. We both agreed we'll NEVER go there again! As soon as we got to our car we discovered we had left our cellphone at the table, so we went to go back into the restaurant to get it and the doors were all locked even though it was supposedto be open till 9 PM. We knocked and no one answered. So, we had to return about an hour or so later and luckily it was open and we retrieved our cellphone.
Best Indian food in BC. I’ve lived in Terrace since I was a child and am very disappointed I only discovered Chef’s restaurant in my 20s He’s a very welcoming and accommodating cook with a passion for cooking that is noticeably present in his dishes. By far my favourite is the Kadai Paneer, a region specialty that he makes what seems true-to-home from the perspective of someone who’s never been to India by not capitulating to North American tastes like a lot of other iterations of cream-heavy dishes here But even then - he still has options for diners with North American taste buds butter dishes, tikka masalas, korma He can also take a while to get food to the table this the reviews about bad service, but there is some important context: he makes everything from scratch, he has to work with ingredients that can be sourced in northern BC, he generally doesn’t have much help Dietary restrictions: Just ask Chef and he will help you decide on a dish to suit your dietary restrictions/preferences
