Chateau Madelinot

My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel for eight nights and had a mixed experience.nnPositives:nnThe staff at this hotel are exceptionally polite and friendly, making us feel very welcome.nThe hotel's location is convenient, providing easy access to various attractions and amenities.nOur room was spacious, clean, and offered a good amount of comfort.nThe bed was comfortable with a suitable mattress, ensuring a restful night's sleep.nnNegatives:nnThe air conditioning in our room did not function properly, causing the room to be uncomfortably hot. Additionally, the AC unit was quite noisy, which was especially bothersome at night.nRoom cleaning is done only every four nights. During our eight-night stay, our room was cleaned only once. It would be much better if this were adjusted to every two or three nights.nNot all rooms are equipped with a microwave oven and toaster, and it appears to be randomly assigned. Unfortunately, our room lacked these appliances, which was inconvenient for our long stay.nThe refrigerator in our room was small and functioned more like a freezer, with no option to adjust the temperature. Consequently, our fruits froze on the first day.nWhile the water pressure was good, the showerhead had clogged holes, resulting in poor water flow. It clearly needs replacement.nOverall, while the hotel has several positive aspects, there are also notable areas for improvement that could significantly enhance the guest experience

The hotel is excellent and very well situated, close to the ferry. The staff was very helpful, especially Sylvette. There is an excellent restaurant at the property. My only suggestion pertains to the room cleaning policy. The room was spotless when we arrived. Upon checking in, we received a notice indicating that, in deference to environmental concerns, sheets would only be replaced after the fourth day of the visit, which is fine, and that one could exchange ones towels as desired at a laundry room on the floor, also fine. What was a disappointment was that the room was not tidied every day, i.e., the wastebaskets were't emptied, the bed was not made, but most importantly, the bathroom was not freshened up. That was highly disappointing as there is no toilet brush in the bathroom. I don't mind the self-service approach if you give me the tools to do it, but the disappointments have nothing to do with the environment.

The hotel was centrally located and very close to the ferry. The parking lot could use an upgrade as it is gravel and full of pot holes but there was still plenty of parking. From the hotel we were able to travel and explore the entire island. Our room was clean and comfortable with a view of the ocean. The only issue was you could hear people walking the hallway but it didn't really bother us or wake us up, other than that, very quite. The pool, sauna and hot tub were enjoyable after a long day of exploring the island, hiking and walking the beaches. There were 2 hot tubs which was very nice. The buffet breakfast was well worth the $24, one of the best buffet breakfasts we've ever had. When it was time to leave, check out was quick and we were only minutes from the ferry. I'd stay there again.

Enjoyed our stay. Room was newly renovated ground level. We had patio access to the central area and enjoyed a nice drink in the evenings watching out to sea. Place was busy but very quiet. We did try the restaurant. The location is handy and you are only minutes to the ferry. Would recommend a stay here.
