Overpriced for what you get. Server had the audacity to ask for more tip and wanted me to tip on the after-tax amount. Peking duck "flaming" is a gimmick. Small portions for price. Service is average. Expect to pay at least $70 per person. Realistically more like $80. Pu Er tea starts at $28/pot. White rice is $6/bowl. Ambience is nice, great views. Restaurant is relatively quiet. Dining area is very clean. Presentation of food is good.
- Good view on the patio. Customers can enjoy the sunset and dinner at the same time - Many parking beside the restaurant. Customers do not have to worry about packing when they get there - Service is excellent. The servers are friendly and have a great attitude to every customer - Food quality is okay. Beijing duck is a must-try dish, and the rest is alright - Food is not cheap there. Expect over 70 dollars per person.
Hugh quality Chinese food focus on xi’an cuisine and Peking duck with a waterfront view! Every dish was exquisite. Pricey, yes, but the service was also great which is rare for Chinese restaurants. The gourd chicken and king mushroom casserole were surprisingly good. Don’t forget to reserve the duck!!
The setting , atmosphere and service was excellent! The only thing was the the Peking duck was kinda over rated, it was kinda dry for me,not up too it's standard, the rest of the meal was delicious though! This place is great for formal business dinning, clients would love the whole setting! So I guess it compensate for the Peking duck! Enjoy everyone! Parking: Remember to get your parking pass at the front desk!
I really enjoyed my two visits to this restaurant. However, it is not the best place for the duck. There are some restaurants in the lower mainland that cooks their duck better. However, they don’t compare to the professional service, attentiveness, and restaurant atmosphere. It’s is definitely a great place for a date, small event, and family functions. It’s right beside the water so the view is amazing, especially during a nice sunny day. Their other dishes are quite good but expensive. Is it worth it, I’d say it’s up for personal opinion. But, I would return for special events. Parking: They provide parking passes
Great northern Chinese food. Peking duck is authentic. Then lamb chops are my favorite. But I do prefer canto style Chinese food better. The location of the restaurant is amazing too. Reminds me of a restaurant in Paris but I would only suggest people come here for business style dinners. It’s kinda over priced.
Best Peking duck I’ve ever had. Need to make reservations for the duck in advance. The duck skin is crispy and light, not greasy at all. Crepes are perfectly steamed, very thin and lightweight. The entire experience is amazing. Yes other dishes are overpriced but for the Peking duck itself I think it’s worth it!
As most reviews here mention, you come here for the nice sunset view and Peking duck! Without a doubt, in my opinion, better than Mott 32, China Gate, Neptune, etc… This is because they prepare your duck assuming you show up on time and order in a timely fashion, the longer you delay the duck, the quicker it will dry out. Otherwise, everything else is way overpriced! For instance, almost $30 for that small vegetable dish! If it was brought out in larger portion, I could’ve accepted the pricing, but that is a portion for two or three people. Go there to try it once for yourself and you can decide if it was worth it!
This place has delicious food and I almost let the reviews that talk about it being overpriced and the food not being exceptional get in the way of me trying it! So I decided to write a review to share how much I liked it. I found the food really interesting while still being authentic Chinese dishes but probably modified for the local tastes - I am most familiar with the milder Cantonese flavours and found the food here to be very balanced for my palate even though the spicing is from a different cuisine. The flambé of the duck might not accomplish anything besides showmanship and fun. I liked it and it’s memorable. Both the chilli crab served with a wonderful selection of veg and surprise crinkle fries! and fried eggplant were standouts! Lamp chops were great. With our big table of 8, we were very satisfied and spent less than $100 per person before tip. I’ve been spending way more than that at non Chinese restaurants without having such delicious and diverse foods. This is a restaurant to be fancier like fine dining. Service was excellent. We had cocktails which were priced like at other higher end restaurants rather than buying the very pricey pots of tea too accustomed to getting Chinese tea cheap or free. I didn’t like my Blue Sky that much but would try some others next time. I suspect that people who didn’t like their experience as much just didn’t order well or didn’t have anything to compare the restaurant to or perhaps the chefs changed or something. Not cheap. Worth it. And if you check in and get a pass, there’s free parking!
Ordered lunch today for 4 guests Beef with pickled chilli very good dish and not too suan, well balanced . Braised cabbage nothing exciting here Preserved meat with morel mushrooms noticed no morel mushrooms in the dish only tea tree and shitake asked waiter , first said would check with kitchen , then said tea tree mushrooms were morel mushrooms , showed him photo , then changed and said Chinese menu is correct and English menu is wrong . Offered to remake dish but said it would be same so we declined . Paid a premium and excited to see morel mushrooms as it’s a more expensive ingredient. Peking Duck This duck was terrible skin was not crispy and it was very oils as the fat under the skin wasn’t rendered . I had better duck at cheaper places like Yan’s and New Mandarin .. the skin was soft on this duck . Duck wonton soup Very good dish it was very tasty and wonton wrapper was very thin and duck meat soft and ducky . Service and View was very good but won’t be back as price and food aren’t very good for what you get . I wouldn’t care about the price if the dishes were all consistently good . The signature dish was so bad. I think they may deep fry the duck ..
