Before you order make sure that the server understands what you want. I ordered something that I didn't get. Also this place has a tax on sugary drinks ? I have never seen this tax in any other restaurants Food: 3/5
Wow. Just wow. Best pork taco place ever. The flavours were well put together. The shoulder and the belly compliment each other magically and the assortment of sauces and sides were spot on. The limonata is citrusy and refreshing - cuts through the fat and grease to get your tastebuds ready for more. 100% am coming back hereFood: 5/5
Delicious food, very authentic and nice restaurant. The salsas and black beans are delicious, the tortillas taste like if you were in Mexico and you can order the type of meat you want to eat, I’m my case I only like maciza and it’s hard to find places in Vancouver that give this option. Vegetarian options: Potato and squash tacos
Authentic Mexican joint wherein you paid ahead of time before sitting down at the table and waiting for your food. Price is per pound and you get a certain number of tortillas for the price indicated. There are a few different options to choose from, including vegetarian options. Taste was really good, especially the homemade tortillas. The 1/4 lb portion was perfect for one person. Only bad thing is you couldn’t mix and match different types of meats/vegetables. The dish came with different types of salsa. Overall, it was a great experience. Street parking only.
Experience is fantastic and it's fun to build your own taco the way you want with the provided sides and sauces, but the overall taste is just okay. Among the two types of meat choices we got, I find their panza pork belly much better than their campechano shoulder + belly. Their tortilla is really good tho. I'd recommend getting the bottom ones first since they get quite soggy if left last. And when they get soggy, they break apart easily.
The tacos were unreal but I think it's really the space and the decor that sealed the deal for me. I also love the fact that you pay for your food upfront. That way you can leave whenever you're done eating. Chancho is definitely on the rotation now!Food: 5/5
Great food. Love the concept of the restaurant; you order and pay before you find your table. Service was okay - the person at the front that was taking my order and payment just turned and walked away as I was prompted to pay. You'd hope they would at least wait for you to finish to pay before walking away... it felt a little rude, especially since it's the only interaction you would have with someone there before you get your food or drinks. Besides that the food was great. Music was on point. Bathrooms need some attention but all and all I'd go back for the tacos.
An ideal place for a quick bite. Conveniently located close to Commercial broadway station, it provides a perfect Mexican food. Apart from loud music, ambience is small but spacious. You just have to speak loud. I would highly recommend this place. I just loved nachos and guacamole. Nachos are crisp and guacamole is fresh.
Order at counter joint. The tortillas are fresh, and with the mix of tender belly and shoulder carnitas, everything tasted fine. It would be good if there was a complementary flavor like a pickled radish or onion. There is a variety of salsa offered but they're stingy with it and they are not very flavorful either. I wouldn't come here to try tacos if you are looking for something extraordinary. It's definitely a solid lunch option.
The food was good, the service was meh, and the atmosphere was rambunctious. We've never had Chilaquiles before but now would recommend getting that! It was crispy and filling. I thought the Birria tacos were okay but not worth that price. They filled the taco but the meat was dry even with the sauce. The mixed pork tacos were really good, especially the pork belly . The hostess wasn't as friendly but she answered our questions about the food.
