Excellent food service and drinks .. had Caesar flight .. mojito and chicken and waffles
Great meal and great service ! Best gravy we have had in a long while ! Kid-friendliness: Several families with children there, all were great and well behaved ! Parking: Lots of parking there, also a roadside rest area there.
Have stopped here many times for lunch and dinner. Great food, friendly staff. Prices have certainly increased recently but hasn't everything in this world? Highly recommended.
Food was decent, prices ok. The staff were all miserable. 2 servers never cracked a smile, not friendly until it was time to pay/tip then slightly friendly. A woman came out of the kitchen, was miserable and eye rolling at the waitress. The room/decor are ok. Probably won't race back
Lovely big open space with high ceilings and rustic decor. Staff is very friendly and service is quick! Had the skillet which was filling and full of flavor. My brothers got Benedict's and asked for med poached eggs but they were hard. Overall great brunch.
A pleasant environment. Indoor or patio seating. Food is above average. Presentation is good with large portions. Fair pricing.
I have such mixed feelings about the Country Kitchen. The building is new and homey and inviting, tons of parking with outdoor seating, and a small but varied menu. We went for lunch on Sunday, and the restaurant was about half full, service was friendly and quite quick. Also, for those that need to know, they offer gluten free buns, but not bread. The food was where it fell apart. I ordered the chicken and waffles, and I received a soggy waffle with one slightly overcooked southern fried chicken breast and Chipotle gravy with a small dusting of cilantro. the gravy and bourbon syrup was really phenomenal, but the waffle was not well cooked and the chicken was anemic and dry. for $15, this was really not good value. My fiancé ordered the Cobb salad, it came with a huge! pile of already dressed lettuce, a sliced egg, a few pieces of chicken and bacon, and without the avocado. when we mentioned to our server they forgot the avocado, and after about 5 minutes, our server brought out a plate with half an avocado sliced on it. Unfortunately she was done most of the salad by then. There was a really poor ratio of ingredients to an overwhelming amount of lettuce, and the salad was extremely poor value for $15+. At the end of the meal when our server came by, I expressed my concerns about the salad, and without hesitation she removed it completely from the bill, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately in spite of the service and atmosphere, i wouldn't go back because the food was poor value and very underwhelming.
I would like to thank one of the cooks and the Manager owner for helping me one night last week. I had driven up from Cobble Hill with my electric car. I stopped in Duncan as planned and the charger I needed to use was out of order. I proceeded to try to drive home to Nanaimo with very little battery. I was forced to pull off the hwy at this restaurant at 9pm. I was desperate to use an outdoor outlet to charge my battery so I could get home safety. I was on the verge of tears when I pulled in being a single woman alone in the dark. Although it was not a public charging station tI am grateful they allowed me to charge up that night behind their restaurant. I’m forever grateful to helping me get home that night
Lunch stop whilst we were on a biking daytrip from Victoria.... Plenty of parking, very good service and excellent food and well priced. Air conditioned environment which was lovely and cool and well received when it was 37° outside.....!! Definitely a place we shall return to.....
Expensive ice cream cones and tiny scoops. First time we went it was great with good size scoops and selection. Second and third time they gave me the wrong ice cream and the scoops were tiny! Will not be back!
