I have been looking for a new onion ring place since Burger Jones closed during covid. RIP! Casper's is a worthy replacement! Crunchy, flavorful, and as big as the appetizer plates they are served on. I will go back for the onion rings alone. My party of 3 each had the same entree for dinner, so I can't speak to the variety on the menu, but the Firehouse burger and fries were good all around. The BBQ sauce has a bold flavor and the burgers were well cooked to preference. I am a stickler for good service, and I was admittedly wary walking in. It was on the late side, it was pleasantly busy for a Monday night, and it seemed to be 2 bartenders keeping the whole place going. But we got drinks and refills unasked for! quickly; our food arrived quickly, and I didn't have a single complaint! I've driven past this place countless times, and am really glad we finally stopped in!
We got there late and the kitchen was just about to close, or had recently shut down. The bartender and chef fired everything back up for our small party. We really appreciated it PLUS the food & drinks were on point. 5 star experience! Parking: Nice wide open spaces for parking.
Amazing food, awesome atmosphere, fantastic service, out of this world experience. Stopped in and took advantage of their Monday special and was not disappointed. If you have not beenhere tou must check it out, if you have not beenhere for awhile time to come back. Parking: Large parking lot
Friendly but a bit overworked staff at the bar. I had a salad and it was huge, fresh, but kind of bland and forgettable. For a Tuesday night the bar crowd was loud and a bit rowdy! It wasn't the experience I was expecting I guess, not sure if I would give it another try. The restaurant itself is quite old and quaint. I will say the bill was very reasonable for the food and drinks we ordered.
Very friendly place, although it was my first visit, I loved how our server was very humble, very quick to bring our drinks and would say very honest when I inquired about their cocktails that she honestly tells me , she doesn't know much about cocktails. I like it when server give me their honest opinion. My family liked all you can it shrimp and walleye. I am not big fan of sea food, so I ordered chipotle chicken sandwich which I didn't like it very much, it was bland and dry. I couldn't taste my chipotle sauce. Lastly, I enjoyed their .
Went there for my birthday and got a free steak dinner and a piece of cake! The salad was colorful and delicious too! It was wonderful! The restaurant is decorated so beautifully for the holidays! Our server was very good too! Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu!
This is definitely a one and done place for me. We had a kind server who did a great job keeping our drinks refilled. However, that’s where the good things ended. Almost as soon as my family and I entered the restaurant, we were hit in the face with the smell of cigarette smoke. It was very clear that someone was smoking in their private party room, which we were seated by, as the smell got progressively stronger throughout our meal to the point that my sinuses burned and I had a massive headache. The food is mediocre at best. Everything we had was bland… it’s similar to what you’d expect from Perkins or someplace similar. Our steaks and burger didn’t seem to have any type of seasoning on them. The women’s restroom was freezing cold to the point that my toddler’s teeth were chattering and she refused to use it. It was also rundown and dirty, which matched the theme of the rest of the restaurant…. The blinds on the windows by our table were covered in a thick layer of dust. For similar bland food, I’d recommend hitting up the Perkins up the road. But, really, I’d just skip it all together.
The staff was nice, but the food was not good. I ordered their most popular steak and asked for it medium rare. It was a very poor cut of meat of uneven thickness and arrived well-done and tasted like saw dust. It was also tough like shoe leather. I ate 2 bites and packed the rest to go. I will have to chop it up into tiny pieces to give my dogs so they don't choke or get a blocked bowel from it. The decor is very "old fashioned supper club." There was a very busy loud bar next to the dining room that stressed me out. Our server and the rest of the staff were very nice. We liked them. Too bad the food wasn't better. Unfortunately, we will not be coming back unless we want some more of their giant onion rings, which were tasty.
We have had our annual bowling banquet at Casper’s. The food was delicious and the service was attentive. The servers worked hard to keep up and had pleasant a demeanor. The meatballs were cold and a server bright my friend the wrong beer…twice. Eat here. You’ll like it.
Food and service was great except the front door person was on break and we wandered a bit to find someone to seat us. I almost deducted a star for that and the noisy party table we were seated beside. The table service was attentive and the steak was perfectly prepared. Yummy potato alternative to go with the steak as well, au gratin potatoes, most other places only do fries or baked potatoes.
