Tried this place today for lunch after reading some reviews about the long wait time and wrong orders. They have obviously improved substantially. We waited five minutes for a table of 4 which is more than reasonable for a small place like this. The servers and owner were very friendly and attentive. I especially like their chili oil and asked if I can buy a bottle home. The owner came out from the kitchen and apologized that she didn’t make enough for selling but promised she will do so in the future. Overall, the food is great, would recommend pork intestines, pork skin, curry fish balls on the yellow noodles. The shark fin soup is not as thick as the street one and the color is a bit off as well. I will definitely go back to try more. Food: 4.5/5 Service: 4.8/5 Environment: 4/5
Finally got a chance to try…this is my childhood memory. But in my opinion, the quality of food in HK is better than here, not sure why maybe the food supply issues in Toronto is different. In general, food is good and service is good as well, staffs are polite and well served. I was ordered & for my bowl of noodle, I like the but I prefer can taste more curry. I also ordered too, in my knowledge have 3 different kind in one dish, however they only have 2 different kinds such as & I was disappointed not included .
Authentic cart noodle. I am in food business and can tell they sourced good quality ingredients. They did not compromise on food to cut cost. Overall it tastes good. The one thing is the isn’t . Hopefully it is due to soft opening, it will bring back the real taste in the future. The milk tea is very good. I would recommend this place. Food : 4.7/5 Clean: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Price: 4.5/5
Their taste is very authentic and they really try to be replicate their Wan Chai origin recipes. They are still in soft launch mode and they had to close a few days last week for maintenance, I am fortunate to get a chance to try them out today. I came in 45 minutes after opening on a Saturday and the restaurant was already filled to capacity, fortunately I am first in-line. It’s a fast service eatery so I only have to wait for 10 mins to get seated. But by then 8 others were already waiting behind us and the standing area is small. One of my kids had red sausage and fish balls with thick noodles. Tastes ok My other kid had red sausage with curry fish ball & thin noodles with light spice. The broth was great. Thin noodles were light and tasty. We also tried the medium spicy thick noodle. The spicy was good but I personally like the broth taste from the broth the HK noodle place more. That place also had more broth options to begin with. The side dish radish/pig skin/pig jelly was above average. Portion was good too but I like the jelly to come in bigger pieces and I wished the radishes to be sweeter. Last but not least, their cold milk tea is not bad at all, right balance of tea & milk served cold without ice. Worth a try, just be sure to visit at the right time or risk lineup as it is a new place in the neighbourhood.
Soft opening review Free wifi available Cash or debit only Limited seating seats about 26 One single stall unisex washroom Cart noodle you can build your own bowl with discounted drink options or order a la carte specials. Some HK snacks available or order. Homemade chili sauce available for purchase at $13 + tax a jar. To be honest, room for improvement for this soft opening but not bad. Portions are a good size but could use more variety in toppings. Flavours are ok Beef tendon balls and beef slices were tender. My beef tendons were sliced too small almost look like scraps. My plate of fish skin were also in bits and pieces like it came from the bottom of a bag. Imitated shark fin soup with fish pieces was generous in portion but too watery, needs colour and flavour. The milk tea mix was also too watery, not creamy enough. Also spotted many of bottles Maxim instant coffee in their pantry. Hoping to see their improvement soon
Tasty cart noodle. I had beef brisket, red sausage, sweet and sour glutinous. All so very yummy. Brought back memories of all those old years..! Recommended dishesBeef Brisket,
Is this the same as old and long in business one in Hong Kong? I heard it was from the owner of the very famous noodle cart store in Wai Chi. Anyway, I love its noodle with no alkaline taste and not too soft! Brisket, daikon, fish ball were all very yummy. The sweet and sour gluten is very interesting. The soup base was delicious and tasted like how the pork bone soup of Hong Kong traditional were. Personally I think the crispy fish skin is a must try. It is soft opening and some dishes are not available though, and service is not perfectly smooth yet it seems. Will definitely come back again.
Awesome noodles brings back memory! Only thing chicken wing not spicy as menu. Other than that we love it ! Some items was sold out when we were there will go back for sure !Recommended dishesPig Skin, Pig Intestine
We had to wait in line outside for quite a while which may have raised our expectations too much. We ordered the noodles with brisket, tendon, chicken wings, and red sausage. The soup was not especially flavourful, nor the sausage nor wings. And the wings was not tender enough. Brisket was ok. The fish skin was nicely thin and crispy, but flavour profile only salt. I don't want to be harsh to them since they are still in soft opening mode, maybe things will improve in the future.
The soup base is flavorful and rich. The squid was impressive, especially the curry sauce. The squid had a great texture. Overall, this shop uses high-quality ingredients.
