Carnaval Mexican Grill

Just tried a basic combination meal here. What a pleasant surprise, the beef taco was outstanding. It tasted like slow roasted pot roast that just melted in my mouth. Cheese enchilada was also delicious. One of the real stars though was the verde salsa. You do have to buy chips and salsa but it's $3 and you get both of these salsas which are quite remarkable. Cool vibe, staff was fantastic and helpful. Glad I finally got around to trying this place!

A nice family friendly Mexican restaurant with good food and great service. Atmosphere was clean and inviting. The menu had all the favorites. The food was good and freshly prepared. Drinks were above average and also freshly prepared. Service was awesome with knowledgeable staff. Prices are as expected. Downtown parking is usually available. I'll stop in anytime I'm in Redmond.

We had stopped to visit our family in Redmond & they took us to this gem. We had eaten breakfast a short time ago but we did partake in the food as it smelled fabulous. Drinks were also spot on. The service was attentive & quick. I’d love to go back & explore more of their menu & you should too!

Finally got the chance to try this place. I've been following them on social media for months, drooling over their food & drink photos... My first dining experience was everything I hoped for and more. The menu options were plentiful but not overwhelming. I had the blood orange mezcal margarita, it was incredibly tasy and a good balance of sweet/smokey. For dinner, I had a halibut taco & a shrimp taco with a side of rice/beans. Both tacos were the best I've had in a long time. Very flavorful and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the service was top-notch. Alex is the most wonderful human and talented server, and has a way of making you feel like family. Although I live in Bend, I will be making the trip to Redmond to dine here as much as possible - It's that good!

Lovely place. Great service. Fresh delicious food. We had wonderful deconstructed seviche. Two different tacos, halibut and barbacoa- super yummy, was served with grilled onions!!! For Finale we had the best burrito.

We ordered chips and salsa, which the salsa wasnt very spicy at all, not much flavor to red or green. Carne asada tacos werent anything special. The burrito was the best thing we had and the sauce that came with it was extraordinary. Overall a little different of a place with good service.

Carnaval has just been an amazing place. We really enjoy the uniqueness in drinks. One of my favorites is Coctel de chile serrano. Plus all of the food is amazing. The staff is very friendly. We really enjoy this place. Vegetarian options: My daughter is vegetarian and she really enjoyed Pozole verde. Kid-friendliness: We bring our three kids with us and they really like it. The staff make us all feel comfortable.

Food, service and overall experience A++. For an appetizer we had the plantains carnitas and let me just say compliments to the folks in the kitchen as this blew my mind! It was so amazing. The Cuban pork was also pretty amazing. Definitely a place worth visiting.

My wife and I stopped in yesterday for an early lunch, around 11:30 am. We were greeted by a host, and sat immediately. There were 4 other 2- tops already, and 4 or 5 more came in while we were there. They sent us a little cup of salsa and 4 fresh, warm corn tortillas as appetizer. I ordered the calamari to start, and 1 halibut and 1 barbacoa taco. My wife ordered the huevos rancheros, and it was a huge plate! Sorry for the already eaten portion of the pic. They had a special on the board, and I ordered that as well, but our server came back and told me it was not totally prepped up yet. Then I ordered the costillos, but those were not ready either. No problem! So I asked the server about the Carnitas or the marinated pork chop, and she enthusiastically recommend the pork chop. Glad that was ready, and that I ordered it. My wife stated that her plate was delicious, and she finished the whole thing! I couldn't believe it, as she is a small eater. My pork chop was a porterhouse cut, and it was flavorful and presented very well. The calamari was super crispy outside and tender inside, and my tacos were awesome as well. I could have eaten a whole plate of the barbacoa meat by itself! The ambiance is well done. Its a small shop inside, maybe 12 tables total that can be moved around. The full bar is attractive, and I saw the bartender fresh squeezing ruby reds for cocktails I assume. The bathrooms were very clean and smelled good. Prices were $12 for the calamari, $5 for each taco, $12 for the huevos, and $25 for the pork chop. I highly recommend this place: its fairly new to Redmond downtown and the food is all scratch and very tasty.

I was on a quick trip to Redmond and was going to eat at a local brewery. However, locals at the brewery and the owner of the brewery all recommended Carnaval so I figured I’d try it out. I’m glad I listened because I ended up having the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. This isn’t your regular Mexican restaurant, the presentation is beautiful and the food tastes even better! The flavors are amazing and I loved everything I had. It is pricier than a regular Mexican restaurant but it is more than worth it.
