We had our daughters baby shower at Carmens this Sunday. Taylor was a helpful and resourceful event planner. All of our wishes were realized. The staff is very professional the food was delicious. Our bartender made the most special mocktails for our guests. The receptionist was always ready to see to our needs
We had the most amazing day at Carmen’s for our wedding reception. The staff were great and the food are so delicious! I wouldn’t have chosen anywhere but here! My wedding reception was delayed for two years due to covid and Carmen’s was really accommodating. They didn’t increase our fees. The hall was so beautiful and big. We had a very large room it was perfect for dinning and dancing. The wedding cake they made was so beautiful! The bride’s private room was nice and comfortable. They prepared sparkling wine and food there for me. The complimentary honeymoon suite was so fancy too! The all inclusive package was such a good deal you can’t not beat it! I give Carmen’s five stars but I do have some suggestions/ complaints: 1. We purchased upgraded bar package but my husband found out after the cocktail hour that we were served regular drinks. That was a big disappointment because we already corrected it through email with Taylor before the wedding. 2. The whole wedding was a little unorganized. The DJ did not get the updated wedding plan so all his introductions were messed up. We ended up correcting all the speeches and made a plan with him on spot. 3. The DJ was not very professional in my opinion. He did not have the updated plan which was not his fault, but we paid extra for him to be our MC. He did not do any MC work. When he did introduced people to come on stage they were all messed up and we couldn’t even hear him. I would have introduced everyone by myself and everyone would have heard it better. It was not worth it to pay him extra to become our MC just to say a few extra lines we couldn’t even hear. After the dinner he came up to us to ask if we want to cut cake earlier. We were so busy we had to say goodbye to guest and send my baby home. He did not play any music for a good 20 mins so everyone thought the event ended so most of the people left. I was really disappointed and sad people left my party so early. If he just started the dance floor instead of waiting we would have had more people staying.
We had our wedding reception at Carmen’s Banquet Centre and they were amazing from the very beginning to end. Taylor was our event coordinator and we can’t thank her enough. She listen to all our concerns, needs, and requests. The food was exceptional, they were even able to modify the menu for my cousin, who had a bunch of allergies including dairy and gluten and my cousin still loved the food. Taylor, we can’t thank you enough for making our special day unforgettable. Everyone had a great time. We highly recommend Carmen’s for any events including weddings, you won’t regret it. Went here for my semi-formal about a week ago very nice and well decorated the food was okay not my favorite but as expected I am also a very picky eater so there was lots of space when sitting for the dinner, not really enough room to dance loved the fact that they brought in a free photographer 8 out of 10 night
For this day and age, I am surprised a facility is so ill equipped for as simple a dietary restriction as being vegetarian. Please note that Caesar dressing is NOT vegetarian this was after the vegetarians at our table were brought a salad with bacon bits. Members of our group had specifically asked Carmen's employees what the vegetarian entree would be, and yet the actual meal served was something entirely different. The food was rather cold and the sound/acoustics of the room were quite unpleasant. Most of the staff were wonderful but I'm glad I was a guest and not a host.
New year's party was great, music was fantastic, food was good, venue beautiful. The only thing that was negative was that there wasn't enough staff to keep bar lines moving or food courses served and cleared in timely manner. It was almost 45-60 minutes between meal courses. Otherwise it was a great night.
My husband and I have mixed feelings about Carmen's. Cons: Until about 4 months before the wedding, it was almost impossible to get a hold of anyone. Emails would go unanswered and no one ever picked up the phone. This was very stressful when trying to get information before making final decisions with other vendors. During our tasting, the top sirloin that we were so excited about was flavorless.... so we ended up paying extra for something different. Despite it being a winter wedding, there was no coat check unless you paid extra. There were quite a few things that you had to pay extra for, including certain types of linens and special lighting. Lastly, we found out after the wedding that our guests had to stand around in the foyer for over an hour with no seating because the maître-D would not allow anyone in the reception room even though everything was set up. She was also difficult to find throughout the night and we had to send one of our bridesmaids on a goose hunt more than once to go find her during critical junctions of the evening. Pros: Beautiful venue, good prices, very talented baker and we were eventually given a new coordinator Taylor, she was great to work with during our few months before the wedding! All in all, our wedding day was amazing! Carmen's just made the planning portion more stressful than it needed to be.
Absolutely beautiful Venue. We were there for a Christmas party and it was just stunning. We walked around into different rooms being used for the event and all were so beautiful. All the staff were very friendly as well. Very convenient location also close to highways
We loved the food, service, drinks and space. I had my wedding at Carmen's at the end of October 2022 and they were fantastic at meeting all of our needs or concerns and the night went off without a hitch. We had 230 guest and they were all so complimentary in the food and the service, we can't thank the staff there enough. I would highly recommend any of their rooms, if they are still available!
New Years Eve party, Positive: Food was good. Negative: Over 700 people attended, very crowded. Washrooms tiny and insufficient for the number of people line ups. Bars insufficient for the number of people waited in line 20 minutes to get a drink. Note: when beverages are included in the ticket price a long wait to get a drink saves the facility money. Banquet hall acoustics was terrible music was muffled. Tables too close together making it difficult get around in the facility. Meal servings was spaced out over 3 hours. Will never return!
