I wasn’t in a rush to get my passport, so I went on a Tuesday morning and the place was almost empty. I was in and out in under 20 minutes. Everyone was friendly and the whole process was stress-free. My passport arrived at my door 3 weeks and 2 days later. Definitely a 5/5 experience. If you need a passport urgently, this isn’t the spot, but it’s perfect if you’re traveling in 1.5 - 2 months.
Had such a wonderful experience at Service Canada today. From the very start, the receptionist was super polite, warm, and welcoming — instantly made us feel comfortable. Then Lydia at the counter was absolutely amazing. She completed three applications for us in record time with such patience, professionalism, and kindness. She listened carefully, explained the entire process clearly, gave extra helpful information, and did everything with a smile. Truly outstanding service — efficient, respectful, and human. Thank you for making what could’ve been a stressful visit such a smooth and positive experience!
Was there Tuesday at about 10 for my passport renewal. My application was checked at the front desk then I had about a 15 minute wait. Three of 4 wickets were open and people being served when I arrived. Two people were ahead of me but I found out I could have made an appointment. One man thus squeezed in ahead of me. Then another wicket opened and Debbie was very pleasant and efficient. She explained that they were a processing centre and passports would be made in Mississauga and mailed out in about 5 weeks. Thus, if you want speedier action this is not the place.nThis was also explained by the employee at the reception so people did not wait if passport needed earlier.nWhen I left there were about 5-6 people waiting.nVery good experience. Door to door for me from Ottawa was about 1.5 hours.
I attended the Carleton Place Service Canada Centre from 1120-1145hrs EST, Thursday, 22 Jan 2026.nnMy experience at this location will be memorable for the impressive efficiency of the team members from the moment I entered the building.nnI was immediately greeted by Christina in both official languages. Christina is a new team member; however, she displayed a confidence and enthusiasm that is commensurate with far more experienced team members.nnOnce the next steps were identified, I was quickly transferred to Lydia who also welcomed me in both official languages and we promptly set to the required tasks.nnIt was the combined efforts of these two people that ensured my time at the location was quick - allowing more people to be attended to.nnPlease note that while Lydia was processing my documentation, I overheard another team member I did not get her name, but I believe she was working in kiosk #3 speaking with a couple who were experiencing challenges, and were confused in many ways. The team member spoke with a calmness and gentleness that eased the tension for the two clients - allowing the challenges to be overcome.nnI applaud all the team members at the Carleton Place Service Canada Centre for their professionalism, empathy, and dedication to providing a safe and productive workspace.nnFor clarity: My experiences at any Service Canada Centre has consistently been pleasant - treated with dignity and respect without fail And I’m including the chaos of helping my daughter receive an expedited passport during COVID.nnFurthermore, the forward-facing team members have always presented themselves as professionals with an authentic desire to help people - with kindness, empathy, and effectiveness as their core values.nnIt was a pleasure to have met Christina and Lydia at the Carleton Place Service Canada Centre location, and I look forward to the next warm greeting!nnKindest Regards,nSimon Kardynal
I went to this service centre with passport renewal applications. It was Friday so I expected it to be a bit busier than other days of the week, and it was. Nonetheless, it only took 45 minutes from when I walked through the door to when I left. This was an excellent choice for me as I had no immediate travel plans. NOTE THAT you cannot pick up new passports at this location. New passports are sent by mail. If you need your passport quickly, you will need to go to a different location. All the staff were friendly and super patient with the many people who showed up thinking this location offered the pick up option.
