The Carleton Place and Beckwith Heritage Museum has a large collection of local artifacts. It is also home to a growing number of photographs and archival materials relating to local families. The Museum has attractive exhibits for all ages and is wheelchair accessible.
Erected in 1872, the building which now houses the Carleton Place and Beckwith Heritage Museum served the community of Carleton Place as Town Hall and lock up until 1879, and as Victoria Public school until 1969.
The museum is run by the Carleton Place and Beckwith Historical Society. Since 1979 the Historical Society has made an effort to preserve and promote the heritage of the communities of Carleton Place and Beckwith Township. Our members are united by a desire to conserve and share local history.
