Good instructors from my experience, they definitely give you the tools to succeed so long as you are willing to spend a few hours a night studying, the material provided will continue to benefit you your entire career.
This is a GREAT place to get your first aid certifications, CSO training, etc. The staff are VERY knowledgeable, passionate and focused on your success and understanding of the material. You gain a great deal of practical, hands on experience and you leave feeling confident in the new skills you have learned. Your days are jammed packed and there’s no time to be bored. I have to admit that I was mentally drained by the end of each day but it was worth it. Each day you do a lot of physical, practical work and are on the ground often on your knees and my only minor complaint would be that the floors are barely padded and the carpet is quite worn. It would be nice if they invested a little bit into the building and made the floors a tad more comfortable. That being said, the experience and knowledge you gain here is well worth some sore knees. You leave here feeling confident in your new found abilities. I’m very pleased with my experiences here. ***IF YOU FOUND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL KINDLY “LIKE” IT***
I had a great time doing the course FIST AID LEVEL 3 and everyone involved in Care Institute Of Safety & Health has made it a great experience. I look forward to doing more courses with this institute in the future and have been recommending to everyone I know. Thank you for all the assistance and feedback, it has been delightful and very gratifying. My instructor, Julianne ,has helped me a lot, particularly Through her lessons and her best teaching methodology, my Skills has improved. She gave different scenarios, which not only made the lesson interesting but also made it easy for me to understand well. She not only encouraged me on every step but made me confident through her lessons. She is indeed a good and knowledgeable instructor and a good guide too. I highly recommend Julianne and Care Institute Of Safety & Health.
Never go through this company for certification. The instructor was nodding off mid sentence and many times during the course. She even nodded off during someone's practical exam. She told me one day she was going through morphine withdrawal, I suspect she has substance abuse problems. She then asked me to lie on the evaluation form at the end of the course and lie to her boss about the morphine. I left a voicemail for and emailed the CEO, Elaine, who didn't even have enough professionalism to respond. I know of one other person in the course who she approached and asked them to lie for her. When she wasn't nodding off, she was on her phone, asking us to leave early which I believe violates WorkSafe regulations about teaching hours, making and accepting calls in class, and having violent mood swings. Even if you were to get a different instructor, the fact that her boss, Elaine, let someone like that certify people is scary. I watched this 'instructor ' certify two people for OFA level 3 who should have failed. We are talking about people's lives here!
You certainly won't learn and know OFA3 like the back of your hand, but if you pick up a lot of the slack by yourself then you might have a chance at certifying. Maybe an option if your company is covering the cost, but I wouldn't pay out of pocket for training here.
Highly recommend this institution for CSO training. Compare "The Care Institute" student reviews with BCITs if your unsure who to pick!
Took OFA Level 3 with this training facility. My instructor Julianne left me feeling competent as a first aider for the first time. I have taken a few basic first aid courses before, and I have not ever finished the course feeling like I would be able to perform what I've learned. Julianne made sure we drilled in proper habits from the beginning, including staying up-to-date with new science and to be open to learning. And she really seems to understand the effectiveness of practice, practice, practice, with encouragement to learn and deep dive into the theory on our own, using valuable class time to practice. When I had questions about anything, such as an application in real life scenarios, she went out of her way to find the answer for me. And I've heard the other students speak highly of her and other instructors they've previously taken the course with here too. I highly recommend Care Institute for any First Aid training.
I had Julie Anne as a teacher, she instructed us well and held us to a high standard. If I had someone doing first aid on me I would breathe easy knowing they were trained by Julie-Anne.
Taking an ofa3 right now with Nikki - it's amazing. Nikki's lectures are engaging and she has the perfect touch of hands off while we practice and make mistakes. She also gives important real life examples of what we are learning which I find helpful and important, and she is a great storyteller. Would highly recommend Nikki as a teacher.
Elaine is amazing! Great customer service and Nicole Tatinger is a fantastic first aid instructor. And Nadine Moffat is the shizzznit CSO instructor thanks guys
