Caras Park is a nice environment to enjoying just walking or bicycling or spending time down by the river. You can watch the more adventuresome face the challenges that the river presents them as they paddle their kayaks across the small white caps produced by the large jaunty rocks that stick out above the waters surface. There is also an antique Carousel available for the children on up to the elderly to enjoy. Many events are also hosted at Charis Park including but not limited out to lunch at the park on Wednesdays, the symphony plays in the evenings at scheduled times, many collector car shows are held there as well. Most of these occasions also bring with them live music, dancing, food trucks, and fun can be had by all ages.

So much fun for families Lots of different venues...music, farmers market, festivals. Parking can be a problem. I had a question about parking. Is it free? On weekends and after 5pm it is free, otherwise you must pay. There are reserved spaces also

It is an ideally located park along the Clark Fork river. Caras Park serves as a venue for everything from outdoor concerts, food markets, beer festivals and community events to even staging political rallies (Bernie Sanders spoke there during the 2016 campaign). Even when events are not occuring, plenty of parking allows you to get out and walk along the river-side trail, visit the Carousel and Dragon's Hallow and quick access to the best of Missoula downtown.

The park was the scene of packet pickup and the finish line for the Missoula Marathon. A nice little park with ample parking nearby.
