Captain's Choice Fish House

Fried halibut fish and chips is the best I've had in the area and I've tried a lot of local fish places. The chowder is very obviously not homemade, but it's still pretty tasty for what it is. There's a salad bar if that's your thing and if you're not too into seafood there are some sandwich options like a hamburger or a Reuben. The service has always been excellent anytime we've gone here, too.

4 stars isn't fair for this place. They deserve at least a 4.3 so let's dig in. I had the oysters, the cod fries and the chowder. I know that I said the chowder last but it was totally amazing. Almost pure white in color and it came holding its shape on the top of the cups and I go a bowl. This alone is an amazing fete. None of it spilling over. Nope! NOT A DROP. Now the taste was really just splendid. I have to say that if you come to the Captains Choice make sure you at least have the CHOWDER. As for the oysters, a bit over cooked for my taste and to much batter. The fish was very good, the fries were battered and I like that so it's a plus. But just to make sure, DID I MENTION THE CHOWDER? THE CHOWDER ALONE IS WORTH A VISIT.

I had a wonderful HUGE shrimp Louie it was good. Wish it had a little more shrimp though and French dressing. I like French dressing with my shrimp Louie. My boyfriend and the friend that was with us really enjoyed their meals a lot. My boyfriend got the fish fry and had more than enough fish in it. Our friend got a blackened salmon and it was almost perfect. He likes his even more blackened than what they did, but that's more of a personal preference. Prices are very reasonable.

The food was delicious and affordable! Seemed to be popular with the locals (which is always a good sign). The service was friendly and prompt.

Had the crab and shrimp hoagie, so yummy generous portion on crab and meat. Love the clam chowder too. Great, friendly service❤️ Would recommend this place
