Really good food at a reasonable price. Family owned/operated for 30 years. Fun wait staff! A gem in the middle of nowhere.

After a long day at the caves, we were hoping for a satisfying dinner. There are very few options in TuleLake. We were not disappointed in Captain Jack's. I had the chicken, basil, artichoke pasta with excellent Alfredo sauce and julienne side veggies. A large serving, enough for two people. Primavera was also available. BF tried the fried oysters and loved them. The wheat bread and salad to start was great. We finished off with their lemon cheesecake with marionberry sauce. All around delicious meal in the midst of small town offerings. We had the restaurant all to ourselves (early dinner about 5pm). The hostess and cook were very friendly and chatted about the area. We are returning to Lava Beds in June and will definitely hit up this place again.
