We walked around pipeline hike to reach the hatchery. It was temporary closed. But the hike was absolutely gorgeous. We see some fish in the water at the end too
Located at Capilano River Regional Park, the hatchery is pretty far down the hill with steps and gravel trails. Going down is easy for kids and seniors, going back up is another story and challenging for most, take your time.nnThere is a road that is accessible by car at the hatchery and the best solution to pick up kids or seniors.nnHatchery itself shows the history and how its used to help protect the fish species and future generations.nnWell worth the visit.
The Capilano River Hatchery is an excellent place to visit if you happen to be in the area. You can spend an hour or so looking around and the view of the salmon leaping up through the water is an excellent and fascinating thing to see. Easy parking on site and free entry are also superb. Recommend a visit.
Great place to visit. Opening hours are different per season June to August 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Read information there to get good understanding on how they work and how the fish cycle are happening there.nSeeing Salmon jumping from place to place was amazing. River views from there shows the beautiful nature of BC. Walk around the bridge over the river and you will never regret it.
