Canteen is a casual 50 seat restaurant on 124th Street, built in our very own neighborhood and is the proud little sister to our original Red Ox Inn.

We built the kind of room we like to sit in and we pour the beer and wine we like to drink. Walk-in seats are always available but if you are making plans, reserve a table today!

Great, minimalistic decor and cool atmosphere. Delicious cocktails and small plates! The crispy cauliflower and grilled ancho shrimp were worth the trip! Would recommend for either a casual date or a more fancy evening out. :
We just finished the Sunday night dinner by Canteen - this week it was Mexican. WOW! The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were very big - we had a hard time finishing everything. Thank you Andrea and Frank. We will definitely order more Sunday night dinners - what a fantastic idea!
Canteen has always been a super reliable go to. Amazingly fresh food with innovative presentation. Their dinner service is out of this world but I also would count their brunch experience in my regular rotation. Always super food, professional and intimate locale.
WOW the food was amazing! Only thing that would give it that 5 star factor, is if they had just a little more selection in their menu. Don't get me wrong - I will definitely be back! ** I went for brunch
Worth trying for brunch. The dinner is also good. If going there to try their breakfast offerings, the chicken and waffles are nice. There are lighter and healthier options as well like the granola bowl I had in my recent visit. The bacon is a must order as a side or to share.
A bit pricy but great menu and great flavors. Went there for brunch, I had a toast with poached eggs. The hollandaise sauce was very yummy.
Absolutely love their brunch menu. The chicken and waffles are incredible, and their vanilla latte was one of the best I've ever had. The staff are so kind and accommodating and the restaurant has a gorgeous atmosphere and feel.
