Canra Sri-Lankan Cuisine

Loved it. Not into spicy stuff but my husband is. The nice lady said it's good (biryani). I tried medium biryani and I love the taste! Not too spicy for me and my husband said he loved the spiciness of his meal. Perfect even. I would surely drop by next time. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Awesome food and great hospitality - despite being a counter serve! The food was great! We tried almost everything except for the burgers and the taste was authentic. A great welcome break from your usual Indian fare you get at the restaurants. The lady and the gentleman running this spot did a great job in accommodating special requests. Will definitely pay them a visit the next time I am at Vancouver. They even prepare authentic off the menu items like Lumprice with a one day notice.Try it and you will be back again!

I've been working nearby and I thought I'd try it for lunch. I've been back everyday since. Excellent place with great food for a great price ($6 - $12) and very friendly and helpful owners. It's all good but I've particularly enjoyed the kottu roti, the pineapple curry, the eggplant curry, and the chicken curry. Really just an awesome place to grab food.

Absolutely this place! The food is great and the service is even better. They always have a smile on their face. The kitty is just as good as the ones you find in Sri Lanka. I have brought some friends to try it and the have all loved it.

This Restaurant is kind of a hidden gem in Vancouver. The last statement might be an exaggeration, but then if you are Sri Lankan like me then the statement is true as it can get. Till now I was under the assumption there was only 1 good Sri Lankan restaurant in North America (the one in NY) but with Canra I can confidently say there is 2. The Restaurant is run by Mr.Mahendra and his wife – and they can cook! The food is as authentic Sri Lankan as you can get it – the spices and the taste were so right it felt like home food. We ate the Chicken Kothu and the Traditional Rice and curry with Sambol(A dish made with coconut and chili),Moju(Eggplant pickle) and srilankan yellow curry and finished it with Watalappam(coconut custard pudding). The Chicken Kothu was so good that I had to order another one to take to my hotel. The Restaurant is in a food court near gas town and don’t be fooled by the fact it’s in a mall, it’s worth the visit if you haven’t tasted Sri Lankan food. This surly would be my first stop to eat whenever I visit Vancouver.
