Really nice olice hockey arena. Large with many rinks. There is a convenient resteraunt located on site. You can even watch some of the games while enjoying a beverage.nnThe locker rooms are clean and of a good size.nnParking can very challenging during peak periods.
Dressings rooms are well kept. Ice is choppy which really it shouldn't be if they paid a more attention to it. They have the Zamboni and about 3 to 4 people there, just fix it! Cleaning staff are nice, the other two might be a little uptight about the authority they carry running the rink when no one is around....but we all got stuff going on so....
Heard good things about Canlan hockey camps so decided to give the PA Day program a try. Very disappointed. Started with the lax check-in. There wasn't anyone to tie the kid's skate, which hasn't been my experience at other camps. We go the bulk of the review from the kids who said the instructors we belittling to the other children in their comments. My son had an instructor fire a puck at him and his finger was injured - no call, no mention at pick up. He had to show us his swollen finger - they didn't bother to have him ice it. The kids were out of sight of the 'check-out' desk in a space accessible to strangers. Seemingly safety is not a concern at Canlan. I recommend the extra drive over to CHA Central Hockey Academy as we've only ever had a great experience there - professionally run as well.
Ryan Barbour who runs the ASHL out of Canlan Etobicoke is possibly the worst suited person to run a league. Extremely detached from his job, puts customers last in every sense. Staff hates him, customers hate him. Not sure how he has kept his position. Hurting reputation of the league.
I want to give a big shout out to Ryan Barbour and his team for excellent experience. Ryan is very organized and makes the ASHL process seamless. If you’re looking for a league to play this winter look no further. The league and the facility is awesome and great management staff. Keep up the great work!nnAndrew
