We have been visiting this library for many years and have always loved it. My 3 kids are always asking to go. The atmosphere is very open and the staff is very friendly. The current "cafe" is called Dough House Cookies, and they have a delicious selection of reasonably priced cookies... this is just a bonus to visiting such a nice library!

Beautiful facility with a nice selection of materials. Unfortunately, the staff members aren't very personable. There are always 4-5 staff members at the central desk, and none of them can even be bothered to greet patrons. Need assistance? Get ready to feel like a complete idiot. This has been my experience time and again for the past 2+ years...

Our favorite local library! Beautiful, newly built. Very friendly, helpful staff, great activities and wonderful kids play area that fosters imaginative play. Our son doesn't want to go to any other library!

Excellent facilities, especially compared to before the remodeling. Select of materials is good, but limited as this is a smaller branch in the Public Library of Youngstown And Mahoning County system. The nice thing is that you can interlibrary loan items from other branches, as well as other regional library systems. Staff has always been helpful and knowledgeable when I've been to the branch. I know they can get a little overwhelmed, especially on weekends and during the school year. Having worked many years at library myself, I can genuinely say that it's a lot tougher than most of general public realizes. Hats off to the staff, you deserve recognition and respect for everything you all do. Overall, the Canfield Library branch is in many ways better than some of the reviews on here. Some reviews rightfully call out the bigotry from the cafe staff, which should have zero place anywhere, much less in a library. Tl;dr version: The Canfield Library is very good, but the cafe needs non-racist staff.
