Canfield High School

The superintendant has tunnel vision and lacks the leadership to get this school into a academically competitive position. He plays the media and promotes the idea that Canfield Schools are excellent but he only shows the measuring stick of passing the Ohio State Exams and adhering to the "leave no child behind "policy. But, if you really want to measure the academic power of a school, look at the top 20% SAT scores, look at how many kids can get 4's and 5's on the AP classes, look how high the scores are on the subject tests for the SAT, look at how many kids qualify for National Merit Scholarship. Canfield is lacking for top performers not because the kids are not intelligent but that they are not given the tools to really seriously compete. This school spends its money on a new gym floor and tutors for the kids with learning disabilities.
