Story

Join us at The Canalside where we serve REAL FOOD, NOT FAST FOOD. We serve great homemade meals daily with a separate lunch and dinner menu featuring Ontario corn fed steaks, seafood, and pastas as well as amazing daily features. We make some very creative, homemade soups daily. We have an extensive wine and beer menu and a fun new summer cocktail list! We also have 2 hotel suites upstairs if you are looking for luxury accommodations while visiting Port Colborne.
The Canalside has been awarded the 2010 Business of the Year by the PCW Chamber of Commerce. Come, relax and watch the world sail by.

We had lunch here and the food was so good. We were immediately greeted by Dalton, he said he was going to be our Waiter.. and he was wonderful. He mentioned that Dill Pickle Soup was one of the days specials. I'd never heard of this soup before and quite honestly, it didn't sound appetizing at all. After giving us our menus and telling us the days specials, he left to get our drinks and came back with a small dish with Dill Pickle Soup.. he wanted me to give it a try.. I was surprised that he'd go to the trouble.. I tasted it.. all I can say is that it was really good. Our lunch was wonderful.. food was so good.. the wait staff.. so friendly and accommodating..
Beautiful king bed suite. Suite #1 full view of ships going through the canal. Extremely clean, spacious and inviting. Equipped with microwave, small fridge, freezer, basic kitchen necessities. The host and staff, Tammy were extremely helpful and welcoming. The restaurant downstairs offers great food, cozy atmosphere, and a great selection. The prices are fair and the experience is highly recommended.
What an enjoyable evening! The food was amazing. The variety of drinks covered each person's fancy. The balsamic flat bread was delicious. And the service was outstanding. Thank you for a great date night. We'll be back
The meal was fantastic. Enjoyed it quite a bit but the waitress I started with had past the work on to another who had more interest in people he knew. He dropped the bill off on my table. I waited 15 minutes then I went up to the bar. Asked to take care of my bill
AMAZING LOCATION AND STAFF BUT….. The Manager Owner ? was Exceptionally RUDE! We didn’t stay do to his ‘UNACCOMMODATING’ welcome. We asked for a seat on the patio across the street which was already open with many seated guests. His server was about to seat us when he disgustingly interrupted to complain about his back pains and lack of staff. We asked for a table on the patio which made the situation even worse. Again we listened to him complaining to his staff and us about his back and lack of staff…. Simply, we left! Nothing more needs to be said. Hopefully he hired more staff and stayed home to heal! What a disappointment! Truly not 4*!!!
8 members of our car club stopped in here for lunch . What a great place. Our club leader knows the owner . Everyone was very happy with their orders . The daily specials were really good. I know when im back in the area this is my go to stop. Seemed to be a lot of street parking. Located on the canal so nice to walk along and seea ship or two .
Had a wonderful lunch at Canalside this week. Our server Dalton was amazing, he offered history on the canal and was so attentive to our dinner needs. Thank you for a great dinning experience
We had a wonderful stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive. Our server was very knowledgable about beer. We would definitely return.
Our group came for dinner here based on recommendations of friends and Google. We were not disappointed with great food and service. In particular, we loved the fish dishes.Food: 5/5
