Good place, discounted prices are still more than the prices compared with other stores, but easy to find stuff. No returns policy is stupid. They try every possible stupid reason to give you so they dont have to return money to you.
Saw a young man and his girlfriend today get denied a return because of rude staff. I heard everything and even spoke to him afterwards about the altercation.nnHe was extremely polite and calm; the staff however, dismissive and unhelpful.
I had a very frustrating experience at Canadian Tire in Valleyfield. Me and my boyfriend bought an item that was expensive and when we went to return it a week after they denied us saying they can only do an exchange for another one. When we did the purchase we made sure that we would be able to do a full refund if we didn’t like it or find something elsewhere. The cashier told us yes as long as we had the receipt and the original packaging. I was informed their policy only accepts unused items and that we had to read on the receipt their policy for return. The manager told us to not trust cashiers for basic information like the return policy and to ask instead. The staff, including the manager, were unhelpful and gave conflicting information about a store credit's validity. The manager told us the gift card was good for life and the employee told us not even 2 minutes after that it was only good for a year. In those 2 minutes it was clear for us that there was a big lack of communication and informations that they give to the customer and employees. The manager also told us we couldn’t use their gift card for the Canadian Tire gas station that we later found out ON THEIR WEBSITE that we could use it at any Canadian tire store or gas station. This poor customer service was very disappointing. I won't be making major purchases at this location again.
