I ended up going to the auto repair in this Canadian tire this morning. My car muffler fell off my car and was dangerously hanging less than an inch from the ground under my car. I don’t usually go to this repair shop but it was the first one I saw next to the airport. I went in and was greeted by a very nice team. When I told them what happened. They did their best to squeeze me in and were supper helpful, and honestly really awesome! The manager in particular who goes by the name of John was so kind and made a great impression on me. I would recommend any of my friends to go there if they ever need auto repair.
February 2, I ordered from John at service a single Motormaster tire, and I visited the CT location by No.3 Road in Richmond. I picked it up 3 days later and called in that I was coming to pick them up after lunch. Monday when I called, I gave them the details of the vehicle. When I picked up and paid for the tire, I clarified and made sure that all details are on the invoice as per earlier conversation. They printed the receipt and I left. When I got home, I double checked the invoice and non of the details were on the invoice so I called the service department immediately. An Asian gentleman who was on the counter when I picked up the tire was the same person who talked to me over the phone. This person was RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, UNQUALIFIED and should not be representing the Canadian Tire brand or even be dealing with customers at all. I called to ask if I can get another copy of the invoice with all the necessary details emailed to me so I wouldn’t have to drive all the way back as I was busy at work. His solution was for me to drive all the way back so he can re-issue another invoice with all the details. I said I can’t do that because those details have already been given when the tire was ordered. FYI, the single tire was in stock at the location I argued and said that given the lack of responsibility from them, how hard was a simple request of emailing me a copy of this invoice and we’ll call it a day. The guy on the phone said “NOPE, either you go back or you’re not getting anything from me” Last time I checked, emails are easily accessible in 2026.nnIf the tire wasn’t a CT brand, honestly I wouldn’t even bother coming to this location given the incompetency of the service department. The amount of 1 star review this location will worry me a lot if I was Canadian Tire.nnFYI, I needed another tire and went to the Ironwood location and a guy named Matthew was amazing and super easy to deal with.nnLet the No.3 Road location serve as a warning for anyone who wants to deal with the service department, they will waste your time and such incapable people running a place.nnCanadian Tire corporate, if you're still concerned with your brand you should look into this location. They shouldn't be dealing with customers AT ALL!
Had a really great experience with an employee here might have been the manager as he was holding a clipboard at the door when I went in who worked the evening of this past Dec. 15. I had to buy something time sensitive but wasn't able to get there until a few minutes to closing time. Instead of pressuring or rushing me, he let me in with a smile, asked what I was looking for and suggested which aisles I might be able to find it in. When I was scrambling around in an aisle trying to find the item, he came to find me because he looked up it up and saw that a different branch had the item. He then advised me on the other branch's hours and how I might be able to pre-order it to reserve the item and pick it up the next morning. Then he helped me check out a different purchase even though it was past closing time at this point. The friendly customer service was such a breath of fresh air after a stressful day and made such a positive impression.
What a horrible customer experience at this location. I went to return an unused vacuum that was unboxed an expensive Dyson but was informed to my complete surprise that this wasn't an option. I received no warning of any kind from the Ironwood location about this. The cashier at No. 3 Rd was rude from the get go. The manager had some tact comparatively. Very disappointing experience and I rarely if ever leave 1-stars.
It was right before Christmas when my family was ready to take ferry to Victoria from Vancouver, and spend our Christmas there. On the way to the ferry terminal, however, our BMW showed “engine overheat”. We dared not drive further and went to the nearest repair shop that was still open on Sunday Dec 22, almost @4:30.nThat was Canadian Tire, and they are just closing the gate for the shop.nLeo, who seems to be the manager there, still received us. It was impossible to check the engine that afternoon, but he allowed us to leave the car there.nThe next morning, as promised, he checked the car very early and told us it was something they cannot help with, and asked us to bring the car to the dealer.nWe were desperate to get the car fixed. His understanding and care for customer is really appreciated. Don’t forget, it was so close to Christmas already!nAnd he charge us nothing!nThank you Leo!
