Camp Smitty

Great summer camp and rental venue. Good for a weekend getaway, family reunion or weddings.

Came to this Camp over 35 years ago. For several years 4 weeks every Summer. My brother became a counsellor. Some of my best childhood memories were here. Air band competition will stick with me forever. I felt safe, cared for and the food was great! I hope they still run it the same. Life was easy then.

Amazing place, have made such amazing memories here. 100% Recommend. The lake is beautiful and the food is great, so many fun activities. Best camp I've ever been to.

The Camp is run by the Ottawa Boys and Girls Club. They have a secluded 3 bedroom 2 full bathroom Log Cabin on Mink Lake that they rent out on AirBnB. It is excellent and private. The proceeds go to the Camp

I come here every year with a group of Child and Youth Work students. Love this place. Matt and Jessie who take care of the place and prepare meals are very positive and helpful. The food is camp food and just what you need after being busy outside for hours.A great place.

A must for any child. Commeradery, confidence, respect, and personal development unparalleled elsewhere. It was a source my own growth throughout my early impressionable years. It instilled a set of ethics based on equality and sensitivity. From the leadership skills and team work learned there, I became a lifeguard and then joined the military where I had a very successful career, retiring 3 years ago and have since become a successful Blacksmith. All of which I attribute to my time spent there at Camp Smitty formerly known as Camp Minwassin. Thanks for everything and especially the memories.

I went here in the 90's loved my experience. Now having three children I want them to enjoy the experience I had as a child.

BEYOND HORRIBLE!!!! My grandson, high functioning Autism used to go there. As a nurse that works with special needs children and adults I would STRONGLY urge people to not send their children there. After 2 of the worst scabies cases I have ever seen and the lack of qualified camp personnel resulting in such a bad case of poison ivy resulting in intervention and treatment at CHEO I have nothing good to say about this place.

Great huge open space with very lush forest surrounding the camp and a big beautiful lake nice to sit there and watch the sunrise and sunset, remember to bring bug spray because there are lot's of mosquito's.
