Camp Cookstown is Canada’s premier vacation destination for your dog!

We are situated on 45 acres of beautiful, rolling country farmland located north of Toronto and just south of Barrie. Open all year round, Camp Cookstown features a brand new, fully heated/air-conditioned barn.

While at camp, our guests will have an all-access pass where they can run in the sun, nap in the shade, play with friends or splash in one of our puppy pools.

They’re free to do as they please while being supervised by our Camp Counselors. At night or on a cold, rainy day our dog guests can cuddle up with their friends in our warm and cozy country barn!

Whether your dog vacations with us for a day, a night, a weekend, or months at a time, at Camp Cookstown we treat all our guests as our own - with tender, loving care and affection, and zealous regard for their comfort and well-being!

We brought our dog for the first time as a meet and greet. He was so excited....He stayed with Camp Cookstown for the Family Day weekend. He came back exhausted, which is what I wanted for him. Its been a long winter and he hasn't had as much exercise as he usually gets. They also update you on your dog as you request. The only problem I encounter is the drop off/pick up time. I would recommend this place.

Myka (Our High Energy, 1 year old, Siberian Husky) spent 4 nights at Camp Cookstown! She has never stayed over night anywhere but my sister in laws place. I emailed every morning for an update, and got a very fast response every time. Even though I am sure they are super busy with other doggies, which was awesome! I picked her up today and she was nice and clean from her bath she had with them and was super happy to see us :) She has been in the same spot (Her Bed) All day haha so obviously she had a blast!! A Tired Dog, is a Happy Dog!! We will defiantly be bringing Myka back even just for play dates Thank you to the wonderful Staff and The Owner Dan at Camp Cookstown!!

Camp Cookstown has been an amazing experience for my dog Ella and I. The staff are all just so wonderful and they love your job. Ella gets super excited when she is going to camp, the whole time I am driving her to Camp Cookstown, she is eagerly waiting to get there. I have Never seen an unhappy dog not wanting to go to camp for the day!!!!! Ella has lots of doggie friends at camp and she truly needs this time with her kind to just be a dog. She comes home happier and exhausted from all the fun she has had at camp. Camp Cookstown and their Staff are a blessing for Ella and I. They also have transportation too which they will pickup and drop off when I am not able to take Ella to camp myself (AWESOME)! Thank you to Camp Cookstown and Staff.

Two of my three dogs (the two big ones) have in the past had a wonderful time at Camp Cookstown BUT the last time my dogs stayed there, they came home with hook worm and giardia (aka explosive diarrhea). It isn't the first time they have come home and gotten sick shortly after, but it was the first time it was a very serious illness - both were rushed to an emergency vet when I woke up to blood and diarrhea all over the house. I thought for sure one of them was going to die, but after an expensive vet trip and a ton of medicine (which they will go on for round two tomorrow), they got better after about a week (a week of cleaning up explosive diarrhea). After getting over the horror of waking to a bloody mess, I emailed the camp to tell them how sick the dogs were and explained that there is no doubt the illness was from the camp as it is the only time my little dog (who didn't get even slightly sick) isn't with the big dogs. I gave them the cleaning recommendations the vet had given and asked what preventative measures can be taken at the camp to ensure that it won't happen again. Please note, I wasn't angry with them, and I'm still not, but because I received no response to two emails asking for information about how they will prevent this from happening again, I feel its my duty to let others know about this experience as I'm uncertain any measures are being taken to prevent this from happening again, and it was awful for my dogs and my family.

The girls at Camp Cookstowm are second Moms to our Berner Wally. They pick him up, bring him home at night, groom him, love him and take great care of him when we travel. Thank you!!
