Calgary Passport Office

We arrived on a Friday afternoon and our total wait time was 1 hour for a passport renewal. All staff were super helpful and friendly. Things to note:n1 If you are getting a new passport, read the documentation required very carefully described on the online form you printed and filled out ahead of time. A number of people did not have proper Id or passport photos signed. The office does have a pre qualification queue lineup to assist with questions and requirements PRIOR to getting a paper number to process and pay for services.n2 Arrive no less that 90 minutes prior to closing. When we were waiting inside, people arriving were turned away. So, be early.nThe employee inside said it’s always very busy, and there are no slow times or days. Be prepared for 90 minutes total wait time. We were start to finish, 1 hour. Upon our arrival, there were 20 people in line outside. The outside and queue line does move at a good pace as a number of people don’t get past the first queue, or just have questions or picking up forms which occurs in the queue. Our waiting time was 15 minutes in the queue and 45 minutes after receiving a paper number to wait and be called up to a teller.nHope this helps everyone!!

Here is how my experience went for people who were looking to line up before they open:nnGot there at around 7:15-20 am for my passport application this Friday morning to beat the queue. When I did get there, there was already one ahead of me It was a married couple lined up together so technically I was third in line . Nevertheless, I was happy that I was one of the first and even had the thought that maybe I had came too early to line up. BUT. AS SOON AS 7:30 HIT, many people started lining up like crazy. Every time I looked behind me every five minutes, there was more and more people appearing. By 7:55, There was at least 35 people in line for Friday morning before the place opened 8:30 am. Since today was a bit chilly, staff were very nice and opened their doors just a few minutes before 8'o clock. They did only let the first four people in and let the rest wait for opening because they only had 4 tills open at that time Which is reasonable considering that they weren't even considered open at 8 am. Staff who processed passports were also very nice and welcoming and QUICK. As long as you have all your papers in order and you aren't missing anything then it's a very in-and-out type of system. Anyways, got there at around early 7 right before that 7:30 mark hit and ended up as one of the first in line, ended up leaving the place at 8:21 AM I don't know about you, but I was very impressed that I left the place before they were even considered open I actually had a shift at work around 11 am so I was quite nervous that I would get held up here waiting for my passport processing but I merely spent not even over half an hour! On a Friday too! In terms of the line, I'm assuming everybody had the same idea to come at around 7:30 because that's when the abundance of people started flowing in the queue. So if you wanna beat the queue, take my experience as you see fit and plan ahead!nnGreat location, very fast! actually picking up my passport next week!nnP.S, They don't take cash.

COME PREPARED! I showed up on Wednesday just before 10am for a passport renewal and the line up was almost out the door. The two ladies at the front desk were very efficient and friendly, had my number to see the passport renewal agent within 20 minutes of arriving and waited another 30 minutes to be seen. All in all, in and out within the hour. Happy I came here instead of Harry hays, very efficient and friendly group. Thank you!

Walked-in at 10:15 Thursday to get a new passport for our 2 year old, exit before 11am! Fantastic experience overall. Staff are very nice and helpful! Linda-Lee who assisted us at window 4 is kind, quick, and friendly. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

I had my passport photos rejected twice within a span of 3 weeks while waiting a total of 5 hours in a lineup between the two visits. I waited 2 hours in the morning to be first in line when they opened at the Sunpark office in S.W Calgary, the service agent Jax and Don the concierge at the door were so kind and extremely helpful as they let me bypass the lineup after I came back with another photo so I wouldn’t have to wait any longer. These two employees deserve to be recognized and rewarded in some way for their amazing customer service. I didn’t go in there yelling and screaming about the multiple inconveniences I had to deal with over the rejected photos because it wasn’t their fault. I was kind and friendly as a person should be when dealing with customer service agents. Had I gone in there and made a big fuss I’m positive I would not have gotten the same treatment….nor should I have. This is a testament to the fact that people need to treat others as they want to be treated.
