Caffe Espresso Trattoria

Love..love..love caffe Espresso! Food is always delicious...fresh homemade pasta..my favorite restaurant. .if you haven't been there, why not? Go you won't be disappointed.

We have been frequent diners at Cafe Espresso for years. The last time we were there was December of 2016. We have always loved the byob part of the restaurant. Last night my wife and I decided to go for dinner around 5:45 pm. We saw a sign at the podium saying they were no longer byob. We were disappointed but it was ok. We were seated, one of 2 parties in the restaurant. After about 10 minutes a waitress came over and asked us if we would like a glass of wine or a cocktail. My wife asked if she could try a sample of the house cabernet. The waitress asked if we had received a wine list and we said we hadn't. She said " oh....we need to talk" and walked away. We were a little confused. About 5 minutes later she came with a bread board with cold bread, a dollop of soft butter with 2 garlic cloves on top and a little tomato tapenade . What happened to the olive oil with herbs and grated romano cheese that you used to serve? By now it was going on 6:10 , not ordered drinks and we had not even been brought water! This whole experience was a disappointing disaster. When we saw our waitress walk out of the kitchen and go a different direction, we got up and left at 6:15. We also heard the other party, 2 women who were there before us ask where their salads were as we were walking out. The waitress told them she was waiting for the kitchen. There were 2 parties there and maybe 3 on the outside patio!!! Your establishment was one of our favorites in Worcester but I doubt we will go back unless things turn around.

Service was horrible. If they didn't want my money, i would have preferred to be asked to leave!!! The food was burnt: the crispy pork belly and the grilled chicken in the cavatelli pasta dish. And soup was extremely salty with tough strands of chicken.

Had 6:30 pm dinner reservations and the table wasn’t ready which is acceptable but they only gave us two menus for 12 people! We had to ask for menus. The Restaurant wasn’t busy and there were plenty of staff hanging around but only one server to wait on our table. We got glasses of water but they were never refilled during our entire two hour stay. We ordered sodas and adult beverages because it’s no longer BYOB. The waiter brought us our adult beverages but not our sodas so again we had to ask. Typically this restaurant serves bread and oil for their guests while they wait for drinks/apps etc. but we had to request for that as well. The balsamic salad didn’t taste good so I didn’t eat it. They charge 4 extra dollars if you want creaser dressing, biggest scam if I’ve ever heard one. My sister was given the wrong wine because they were out of what she had ordered. The waiter shouldn’t have given her the wrong wine knowing it was wrong. After seeing other tables sit down after us receive all their drinks and food within minutes we were pretty upset and told the waiter to wrap our food to go. So after TWO HOURS of waiting we finally got our food. Horrible service and overpriced never going here again.

This place does a bit of a bait and switch. If you order a single meal to share with someone, they inform you that they will assess a "splitting" charge well after you have ordered your meal. If they have such an unsavory policy, the diner should be informed at the time of order. On the positive side the food was good and the portions are generous.
