We were immediately greeted/attended. Drinks were on the strong side and not in a good way. Calamari was really tender and the dipping sauce was really good. Ravioli and tortellini were both delicious. The shrimp Toscana was decent, sauce was much too light so I ended up adding the remaining dipping sauce from the calamari to the pasta and it made it great. The shrimp were reasonably sized. Crème brûlée had great flavor but the sugar wasn’t flammed enough so it didn’t have that nice crack when you dig into it. Cheesecake was good. Mexican coffee was really good. Service was amazing. Very attentive without being pushy. There was always someone to refill our water/ask if we wanted another drink. Staff was also quick to clear the table from plates. Prices are reasonable considering the quality
They have Brandy listed in two of their meals but I couldn't get a Brandy old fashioned? Probably didn't matter, since they put so much bitters in, I couldn't taste anything else. The braised beef ravioli and penne pesto were excellent!
A little disappointed the gnocchi's were very doughy the shrimp were overcooked the lobster ravioli were pretty good but it was supposed to be a vodka sauce it tasted like a tomato sauce. The owner came up to talk with me and comp me my meal and was very apologetic. Will try again The Manhattans were really good
They have a very robust menu, there is something for everyone here! The portions are big and the bread with the oil is amazing! I got the penne al pesto with shrimp and the sauce is a buttery and light as a pesto sauce, so delicious! We also got cannoli and the bombas ice cream - both very good. The staff is attentive and the ambience is cozy with rustic vibes. Great for date night, casual dinner or a nice event. Highly recommend!
Host and hostess very attentive. Dress is casual. I had on Jeans and a hoodie, but you can also dress up. You can also sit at the bar.
We had an excellent dinner here prior to the John Mulaney concert. Everyone in our party was pleased with their meals. The starter bread and oil and Caprese app were ok. The calamari and fried cheese were the best apps. NY Strip was well prepared, though slightly past the medium rare I requested. Chicken and shrimp scampi was good, not great. Generally it was a nice food experience.
We come from Long Island and part of a fine dining experience has much to do with the food as well as the service. We have been here a few times. My question is how do they stay in business. Not friendly or helpful at all and act like they don’t want you there. This would never happen in New York. And they call New Yorkers rude Unfortunately it happens a lot in this state. For us it has been very hard to find good Italian food here but I have to say this place is comparable to a good Italian restaurant in NY but unfortunately they have the PA attitude. I would go here again but I refuse to pay for lousy service. Does the owner not look at reviews of his restaurant. Get rid of these droids and get some nice wait staff. This is a service business why do you hire rude people? Btw, why do you not have any female employees?
A trip we make several times a year takes us through Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Two years ago, we were hungry as we approached Wilkes-Barre and went online to get a recommendation for a late lunch. One of the top rated restaurants was Cafe Toscana. What a wonderful discovery. The food was outstanding, and we now try to time our trip so we can enjoy a lunch or dinner there. For a starter, try the fresh caesar salad or delicious minestrone soup. For a main, try the manicotti di casa or the mushroom risotto in a brandy sauce. For dessert, the Tartufo Bomba is highly recommended. In the future, we look forward to trying the veal, chicken, and seafood dishes. The service was efficient but not intrusive. The ambience reminded me of a ristorante in Italy.
Love Tosc!! Been coming here for years and the food is always amazing and the service is fantastic! The staff are such good people and so nice to us : The bread and olive oil dip they give you to start is soooo good! The Penne Arrabbiata is my fav meal but honestly you can’t go wrong with anything! Must get the tiramisu for dessert so soft and delicate and delicious!
Amazing food, great service thank you very much! We appreciate such a good restaurant in our town! Keep up the good bolognese and ossobuco
